The Toronto Raptors Have The ANSWER To Their Shooting Problems

The Toronto Raptors are clearly a team that lacked in shooting last season, ranking near the bottom of the league in total attempts from deep but also in the percentage of those shots made. Masai Ujiri’s management attempted to solve that issue through the NBA draft by selecting Kansas shooting guard Gradey Dick with the 13th overall pick.

Raptors fans finally got a taste of what the player could bring to the NBA after watching Dick in 4 out of 5 of the Raptors’ summer league games in Las Vegas. After struggling in the first two games, Gradey Dick adapted well and was very impressive in his final two performances.

There are a couple of aspects of his gamer that really impressed your hoast, Jacob Gramegna, but certainly, some things the player could improve on as well, and if he does, this is the ANSWER that the Toronto Raptors needed for their shooting problems. Dick is far from the only thing though, so where will the rest of the shooting come from?

  1. What do you expect Gradey Dick's role to be at the END of his first NBA season? Starter? Rotation piece? Out of the rotation?

  2. He’s a smart player. He was the best player and only real prospect on our summer league roster. Other teams game planned around him. He’ll have to work on conditioning, strength and handle. But his upside is more than a role player.

  3. I think this team desperately needs nothing except some time to practice

Massi has kept a spot open for a reason and kept extensions off the table for now too

It's so he actually has the ability to make decision

If he extended our players it would totally change what he has the abilities to do right now

He wouldnt have the options he is keeping his options till deadline before make changes.

The only thing he will do is a Thad or Otto trade for a guard or center

Just as much as we need shooting another back up big is needed too.

  4. Gradey being run off the 3pt line was honestly what I wanted to see! We know this kid can shoot at an elite level, there’s no question about that. What I wanted to see was more of his slashing and midrange game from high school and college. He definitely showed his confidence to put the ball on the floor.

  5. Just let him get into the role naturally, he doesn't need to prove anything to us right now. He has a lot of learning to do and he knows that as well. His mental will translate well in year 3 -4 with us. This isn't the year to get 55 wins. we need player progress and we got some current players who need progress more than Grady

  6. Im not sure if he's the answer to our shooting problems. Did you see his buckets. most of them are drives
