The Nets signed Darius Bazley over the weekend, bringing the 23-year-old in on a one-year contract. He had spent previous seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns. The Locked on Nets guys look at what the Bazley signing could mean and how it follows a pattern for Sean Marks and company this off-season. The team is targeting much younger players which possible upside in a player development mode.
Where Darius Bazley is concerned, the young win has shown flashes of scoring and rebounding in his few NBA years but will need to improve considerably on the three-point shooting to really stick with rotation minutes on this Nets team.

Overall Dennis Smith Jr Lonnie Walker lV and now Darius Bazley all bring high athletic abilities and strong defensive skills 🔥🔥…
All three of them have a chance to build up their stocks more having bigger roles in Brooklyn and could set themselves up well for the future….
However it would be nice if Brooklyn could get a traditional backup center….
I still wonder though what the futures of Royce o Neale Dorian Finney Smith and Spencer dinwiddie will be for Brooklyn in the future???…
Keeping them strengthens the Brooklyn culture keeps our defensive identity and definitely keeps us competitive in the future…
Also looking ahead to next year's trade deadline all three of them could be very valuable to a team that wants to make a deep playoff run and Brooklyn could flip all three of them to bring in more first round draft picks to really set themselves up to make a big move in the future (Donovan Mitchell Joel Embid or Luka Doncic)…
Regardless if Brooklyn wants to return to true contention in the near future they need to think who would best fit the culture and work well alongside Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton….
Also where does Cam Thomas fit on this team??? The depth chart has Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson Dorian Finney Smith Royce o Neale Ben Simmons Dennis Smith Jr Lonnie Walker and now Darius Bazley ahead of him….
Given his scoring value has been a big part of skillset Brooklyn should see if they can get a top first round draft pick for him or attach him to a package deal to get a good impact player….
Impact = takes up a roster spot.
