Maxey way better than Herro but Portland should just take 4 (3 Heat + 1 Nets) picks and Lowry and a Nets player. It’s a fair deal and Lillard will be happy. Nets might even be satisfied enough to do it for Herro and a second round

Paul George asked for a trade from Indiana. He wanted the Lakers; he went to OKC. He later signed a new deal in OKC. There is precedent to holding out for a better deal.
May I ask why does Cronin have to be on the Heat's timetable? Again, I know you don't like to here but he's under contract disgruntled or not. He does not have rush. The season hasn't started yet and a lot of things can change and teams can change their minds and injuries can happen. Brooklyn waited and got a haul for a player who is great but will be 35 and is injury prone in Kevin Durant. So Heat media needs to chill or do what the Blazers want. Trade Hero for assets. All I keep hearing is that he's such a valuable young player. Ok if that's the case then go out and trade the valuable player and get the necessary asset to impress the Blazers. Again for all you that seem to let this entitlement go to your head. Dame is a Blazer and will be one until Cronin gets a deal he's thinks is best for his franchise and their interest not the Heat's. If Butler asked for a trade and all the Blazers had was Grant and 2 1sts the Heat management wouldn't bow down and take that offer. So why is that the expectation for the Blazers? The funny thing is I wanted the Heat to have Lillard but this arrogance and entitlement is horrid. So sure that another deal won't come.

The difference between Herro and Maxey (other than Herro's gator arms) is negligible. The reason there's a huge difference is that there's $23 million more in matching salary that has to be returned trading Herro, making him significantly less valuable as a trade piece. To be routed somewhere else for picks, Maxey is going to return significantly more value back.
I continue to find the Miami read on this to be puzzling. Cronin isn't exerting leverage against Miami, he's leaning on Dame's patience. If Riley really believes otherwise, he's far less shrewd than Miami fans/media seem to believe him to be.

Regardless of whether we have the best/only offer for Lillard doesn't change the fact that Portland has something we really want and we have nothing (we're willing to offer) that they want. Until that changes, the pressure is on us to get this deal done.
