Chris Mannix: “Worries me” whether Porziņģis can fit into C’s system | Celtics Offseason Breakdown

Chris Mannix, Chris Forbserg and Amina Smith join Trenni Casey on Arbella Early Edition to evaluate the Celtics’ offseason moves and whether or not the team as currently constituted is better than last year’s team. The group also debate if the “seismic move” Boston is reportedly building towards is a trade for Joel Embiid and if Jordan Walsh could be the real deal after his Summer League performance.

  1. Im sorry but these guys are overvaluing Smart and Williams. Smart wasn't holding a yone accountable for anything and Smart was a liability on offense. Porzingis gives immense upside and allows the C's to be multifaceted in a way they have never been able to be. This is near equivalent to getting KG in his prime in his 20's.

  2. Nah, a stretch 5 rim protector with limitless range who’s a capable passer is gonna be fine, obviously. Jaylen Brown’s contract/handle/attitude worry me however!

  3. poor Chris Mannix… another Porzingis hater detected. Just curious how long will it take until he will try to jump into bandwagon.

  4. What type of ugly basketball is shooting a lot of brick3s. This is not basketball, what a dumb offensive system by a coach who doesn’t know what he’s doing

  5. It doesn't matter if they are better or not. The team needed a big overhaul to start fresh again.

  6. The criticism around the KP confuses me. I get the injury concern, but half the superstars in the league have the same problem. If other teams other than Boston trade their 3rd to 4th best player for a 7 foot 2 dynamic shooter/rim protector PLUS two 1st round picks, everyone would go nuts. But because BOS keeps failing near the finish line, people are starting to underrate them. They also forget that JB/JT get better EVERY year, and now entering their absolute prime. Keep sleeping on the C’s I dare you!

  7. What?
    friggin click bait BS
there is NO Celtics news right now. Post something when they trade Brown instead of artificially generating this horse shit

  8. the same drum keeps getting beat over and over marcus smart 9 years no all star team jacking up 3s making bad plays hes not that guy buddy and he isnt getting better in year 10 or any year after and grant williams prototypical celtics draft mold of big baby brandon bass jared sullinger Semi Ojeleye Guerschon Yabusele undersized pfs who are just role players

  9. I love Smart, but Ime and Joe never played him right. Not to mention Grant barely played. Porzingis is a great player. He seems motivated and happy to contribute to a team he few up loving. He played more than Smart last year during the regular season. We got way better. Everyone will see.

  10. Boston gets a better start the media will forget smart and Williams, they Gona praise Stevens for a genius move just wait

  11. Bad move. Mazulla is a poor man's Mike D'antoni. A very poor man's. A three point shooting dominant style of basketball on an average 3 baller team. No splash brothers here. And even a D'antoni style team requires a good floor general type point guard. No Steve Nash here either. And the Celtics gave up their best floor general and perimeter defender. Can D White step into that role – can he be not only DWhite but also do a lot of what Marcus did at the same time? It's a long shot. Porzingas? He was great last season but can he duplicate that for the Celtics and even if he does is it a net improvement considering what they're gonna lose in passing and perimeter defense? If Porzingas surpasses what he did last year, and D White can take a leap from last year ( and they were both REALLY good last year – do we really think they have another notch above that) the Celtics as currently constructed, can be better than they were last year. Seems like a real long shot to me
