Former Miami Heat center Omer Yurtseven has signed with the Utah Jazz in NBA free agency. The Jazz announced the agreement, although the terms were not disclosed. It is reported to be a two-year contract starting at $2.8 million for the upcoming season.
Yurtseven, who earned $1.6 million with the Heat last season, was unable to regain his form due to an ankle injury. The Heat have since signed Thomas Bryant and upgraded Orlando Robinson, who will compete for minutes behind starting center Bam Adebayo.
Yurtseven will now compete for playing time with the Jazz alongside players like Walker Kessler and Kelly Olynyk. Meanwhile, Jamal Cain remains the lone remaining Heat free agent from last season.
