  1. Heā€™s mostly been just an effective 3pt shooter. Bad defense, no playmaking , poor ball handling. However The way he played in the championship game was impressive. He passed, had a nice block and was clutch. Iā€™m excited to see what happens

  2. It remains to be seen, but I'll say this. I don't see much difference between his player profile and Brandon Miller..

  3. Your right on all counts but remember heā€™s 6ā€™9 running the 2 and 3 he donā€™t gotta have crazy bounce he already 2-3 inches taller than his match up emoni should not have went that liw

  4. People and coaches criticizing WINGSPAN for a guy who has a Steph Curry-like release and range and is 6'9'' are STOOOPID. Period. For college to NBA transitions EVERYONE seems to forget about the god MJ. Bates ceiling is as high as HE wants it to be. These GMs need to do more MENTALITY RESEARCH and less hyper-critical, myopic physical data gathering. Anyone shooting like him at 6'9'' has the mission critical tools right now to be excel in the NBA. The only real questions are their MENTALITY- how much do they want to excel, are they willing to work. From all reports Bates is that guy mentally- staying after practice, tuning in to the coaches in game, showing development from game to game.

  5. IT was proven that his wingspan was incorrect. HE measures at 6'9 1/4 height and 6'10 1/2 armspan… He had a "negative winspan" when he was measured as a 16 year old. His body isnt even done growing NOW; it definitely had a lot of growth since he was 16

  6. If you think his game WON'T translate to the next level, then I'm not sure you're comprehending basketball šŸ˜‚

  7. Vertical jump can actually improve. The thing about vertical jump is how much your body can absorb upon landing, not so much strength to list off. That comes with building muscle and a stronger base.

  8. He's the worst defender on the floor and refuses to pass. He is NOT going to work out in the NBA. You made a whole video because a guy can shoot in thr summer league.

  9. I knew heā€™d be a player when the Lakers Nation kept laughing at him all night of the draft. Guys who pretend to know donā€™t know.

Pleaseļæ¼ Stop making Emoni batesļæ¼ – Kobe Bryant, LeBron James or even KDļæ¼ while He is a 17-year-old phenomenal ļæ¼kid Basketball athlete ļæ¼who Re-classed ļæ¼& Is playing his first college season at 17 years old. which means he would of still been playing the game he loves in high school right nowļæ¼ļæ¼ this season Probably scoring 40- 60 -100 points a gameļæ¼ on that level, But chose a different road and wanted to compete against the bestļæ¼ on the collegiate level of play! Remember ļæ¼At 17 years old Kobe Bryant, LeBron James & even KD Weā€™re all still in high school and not playing on a college level against Fully developed college athletes or even NBA Fully developed grown menļæ¼ ! Emoni Bates Is still growing and developing at the age of 17ļæ¼ & I know without a shadow of doubt that all the ridicule thatā€™s coming from Social media, sports news and the press is only going to make him push harder and become a stronger individual in life and even more of a phenomenal students athleteļæ¼ & student of the game He loves ! Every athlete has a different journey and makes the choices they need to make along that journeyļæ¼ ! ļæ¼ Kobe Bryant was 18 his rookie year LeBron James 19 or even KD was 19 years old ! All Iā€™m saying is let this 17 year-old kidļæ¼ Athlete blossom and grow as a already a phenomenal playerļæ¼ ! And youā€™ll Clearly see that the proof is in the hard work and relentless nonstopļæ¼, Keep pushing attitude and Beast mode mentalityļæ¼ Day in and day out on The national collegiate stage andļæ¼ behind closed doorsļæ¼ ! This kid is Mentally prepared for whatever social media, sports news and the press has next to throw at himļæ¼ļæ¼! He is already blossoming and growing & as a player and once fully developed will continue to be killing on a whole Nother levelļæ¼ ! Killer instinct donā€™t just die!

    ļæ¼

  11. He was the #1 player in his class before he got in trouble and all of a sudden everyone thinks he wonā€™t pan out because got in trouble? Thatā€™s stupid! His game doesnā€™t translate to college itā€™s translate to the pros. Spacing/iso isnā€™t a college game and ā€œexpertsā€ think because he was in trouble and didnā€™t average 30 in college he was trash. Dumb dumbs!! Lol. Zach Lavine came off the bench and averaged 9pts at UCLA. Donā€™t trust the experts.

  12. When will people stop with the stupid measurements nonsense, it means nothing in basketball, even means nothing in football, it means nothing in soccer, it's simply means nothing. This guy is burning with I told you so energy. I just hope he is not Kevin Porter take two. Porter will NEVER win a thing, way to selfish and arrogant.

  13. I knew he was going to be good. I was hoping the pistons would snag him, but knew they wouldnā€™t because of his off court issues.

  14. Cleveland is not a small market city that's the stigma ESPN put on teams so they can keep teams like LA ,NY and Huston on top when we have baseball, basketball, football sports just like those cities

  15. The NBA was Dead wrong to give up on this young man who is still 19 years old. Itā€™s funny they expected a finished product at 17 18 years old thatā€™s insane for him to be 49th in this Draft is silly. He definitely is not a great all around player yet but give him some time to grow up Damn.

  16. If you are a real nba fan or even a true hooper you should know the draft combine doesnā€™t determine how good someone is

  17. Honestly this kid been had game since HS Iā€™m only surprised that his gun charge didnā€™t stunt his growth but surprised NO WAY I been knew he was going to the NBA if he stayed out of trouble Bates a Dawg real supporters been can see that and he rep that #21 šŸ’ŖšŸ¾ šŸ’Æ

  18. I didnā€™t ask for anyoneā€™s expert opinion to know what he could do. When he was in high school I knew he would be like Kobe not in play style but because of his mindset. He wants to be the best.

  19. Hes gonba be good. Seen his college games. Memphis and Eastern Michigan.
Almost like KD with quick release and accuracy. I was hoping my Spurs drafted him in 2nd round. We got Sidy instead. He'll be good, too.

  20. Gilbert Arenas said Emoni would cook on his podcast weeks before the draft. He said some guy's game translated to the NBA better than college- Emoni was his example.

  21. his release is SO quick & that jumper is pure. he initially was destined for the D league for most of if not the entire year, and while if still think he'll start there, I think he'll be called up to the cavs sooner rather than later. GO CAVS!
