If AD is going to play 25 minutes a night a the 4. Then the need to take Rui and prince package them and go get a good center
He loses his shot when he has to play center. You have to understand having Howard and Mcgee was key to unlocking AD. I'm baffled that the Lakers would sabotage themselves. AD needs to play with two other bigs so he can showcase his best offensive talent. Guys are who they are at some pount we know what AD is and what he needs to perform at his best. If the Lakers can snag Mcgee then we are back in business. But we need two bigs for sure…

Jax is a half decent 4 you have to hide on the simplest cover because he doesn't understand proper defensive rotations and p&r defense. we hid him on the corner guy most often when he did manage to see the floor. Simplifying his defensive game to "stay with that guy till they drive then come try to hunt a help block"
He does not function as a 5. You have to hide his lack of defensive understanding behind smart 5s like Larry Nance in order for him to not be a huge defensive liability. Jax couldnt even see the floor as a 5 for us when we lost Larry and were down bad at C because of his lack of defensive understanding.
I know that probably hits as hate for yall but I'm just letting yall know what yall getting into with him.
He will probably shine in minutes yall run him as the 4 with AD at the 5 but how many of those minutes yall have available with Rui and Vando already at the 4 is pretty low. Maybe yall can run a small Rui/Vando at the 5 and Jax at the 4 in bench minutes and it will have a chance of working.
Just dont expect him to function at the 5 spot.
We need another center too , either a rebounder or shot blocker

Ngl javale did it they both play the same I wouldn’t be mad at him playing center when he played for the pelicans he always had another big on the court but I would rather play Colin caselton they both around the same size but Colin is an elite passer he just have no experience so a bench role to proven he can play seem the ideal way

This is being over analyzed. AD can only dictate defensively that he does not want to be a 5 fine when Hayes gets subbed out and really any back up center can be guarded by Rui or Lebron in some cases Vando. So there is playing time it’s just defensively he cannot tell the other team to not have their center guard him
The way you brought up the pros and cons, yeah it could be a problem but it all depends on AD. And coach will have to recognize when to put him and keep him at certain spots

Dave Mcmenimin is a reliable source. I've even heard Pelinka say he will run AD at the 4 more. I don't see this working with Hayes alone also you lose a scorer when this happens. Hayes is a career backup. I think the Lakers are going to bring back Mcgee too and run them like we did Mcgee and Dwight in 2020. AD at the Center makes too much sense with Darvin Hams coaching style. We shall see??

I think Jaxson can do it. A training came with a Top 5 center like AD will open up his game. Rui can play center in the 4th
A lot of us ordinary laker fans have been wanting another big to play alongside AD for a couple of seasons now. As long as there’s another big on the court with him, it doesn’t matter who’s the actual center. It’s in everyone’s best interest to do this. Castleton should get a full minimum contract and he might be able to give us 10 to 15 minutes a game in addition to the minutes that Hayes will give us at center.
We can play Prince at the two. If you want to have LeBron chasing point guards around, you can play LeBron at the point and have a very tall lineup. 😀
It works for me. Putting a young athletic big on the court between two future hall of famers to see how they can elevate his game is a smart/good look. LETS GO LAKERS !!!

Not maxing A.D at the 5 and having another big in with him is the best way to utilize him and keep him healthy. Whether that is Jaxson Hayes or not remains to be seen.

If DeAndre Jordan can work effectively with Blake griffin, Hayes will work just fine w AD. He runs the floor well., guards the perimeter better than Mcgee did. He's a shot blocker and capable of attacking the paint from the 3pt line. He plays well in the dunker spot. I'd rather have him in the starting lineup instead of vando honestly. Dlo, Reaves, LeBron, AD, Hayes.
