Nickeil Alexander-Walker (re-signed) Shake Milton (Philadelphia) Troy Brown Jr. (Lakers) Leonard Miller (33rd pick) Naz Reid (re-signed) Key subtractions:
Taurean Prince (Lakers) Pressing question: Can the Wolves stay on the court to figure out if this can work?
When the Wolves had Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns and Gobert together, the results were mixed at best. The team was 13-13 in those games – the offense was horrendous and the defense was spectacular with those three on the court. The Wolves just didn’t have a lot of chances to have the full squad together because of injuries. Did they gather enough evidence to be certain this could work beyond a first-round playoff appearance? Gobert certainly had a positive impact on their defense, but he and Towns both have clear flaws. We need to see at least 50-60 games of those two together to gauge what the ceiling could be for the two-big lineup. Edwards, though, is a legitimate superstar.

There aren’t 14 teams with a better roster in this league, let’s be real.

Just funny how perceptions could change in the span of a few minutes of a pair of play-in games flipped.
If Anthony Edwards shows up and the Wolves get 7th and the Lakers get 8th then the Lakers probably get bounced in the 1st round. They certainly aren’t “Brink of Contention”
Then if the Bulls hold on, Miami misses the playoffs entirely. They still probably have a Lillard trade up their sleeve though so their ranking is fluid. I do wonder if they’ll have some Case Keenum conundrum. Of course Kirk Cousins is better than Case Keenum, but he’ll never match that 2017 run. Of course Lillard is an upgrade, but the “others” just shot so well for Miami’s finals run. 38% from 3 on about 25 attempts per game from Martin, Vincent, Strus, Lowry and Robinson
