[First Take] They make Morey out to be the smartest GM. He’s never taken a team to a NBA Finals. He builds his team around Harden and they’ve never won… The next time Harden’s in the Finals wake me up. The next time Morey’s in the Finals I’ll be dead. Both [Morey & Harden] are so overrated.

Damn Mad Dog speaking facts for once
2018 Rocket win the finals much less make it in most seasons lol
2018 rockets was one of the best teams, they just ran into the KD warriors
Nothing about ESPN’s NBA adjacent programming makes sense anymore. Lol. They need to figure out if they’re catering to retirees, doing sports gossip or actually focused on sports journalism and stay in that lane.
Morey has the problem that GM’s like Masai have. They’re so convinced they have to fleece someone in every trade that they avoid doing moves they could do that may genuinely help out.
Worst person you know makes a great point
I just don’t get this take, what moves should he have made exactly? He put together incredible teams in Houston that happened to be in the same conference as the possibly best team ever, and they still came very close to beating them. Hell, even in Phili, what moves that he made should I be criticizing him for?
I watched a clip two months ago where this guy didn’t know who Shai was
Edit: found a guy reacting to the clip on YouTube, at the 3:30 mark https://youtu.be/QPcFg4xmcN8
God this shit is so corny
Glad I stopped watching this show after it was changed from Cold Pizza. What a sad state sports media is in.
Do talking heads always have to scream to get their point across? Its not that serious calm TF down
Why do people like first take
ESPN is just a player/GM hating ball
ESPN production is equivalent of shitty YouTube influencers. Disney, gut the place already. It’s dead
I agree with the stuff about morey but not about harden if anything hes become underrated people saying he’s past his prime and still league leader in assists
its sort of a joke how much importance is placed on championships. **the best team in the league doesn’t always win the finals**. the rockets were, at full health with CP3, arguably the best team in the league and one of the best teams in history. sometimes its just a bad luck injury, or a bad bounce. morey has consistently built good teams. harden has consistently been good and gone head to head with the best. pretty disrespectful to discredit anyone and everyone who hasn’t won a title.
Morey’s teams haven’t missed the playoffs since 2013. In the 13 years he was in Hou, only San Antonio had a better record.
Yeah guy sucks compared to all those other GM’s who have been to the playoffs for 10+ straight years.
they got a guy off goodfellas cast to do first take
“Never taken a team to the finals”. Is that what makes you a good GM? He built a team that almost beat a team that people thought was literally unbeatable. Do people forget that those rocket teams were the only teams that competed against the durant gsw teams?
I find funny how this sub always hate ESPN but still take the bait every time.
Trying too hard to be and sound like Stephen A. Even down to the yelling
How the fuck did this guy survive the layoffs?
I feel like I ask that question weekly with ESPN “analysts.”
Watch with no volume on. Very circus ringmaster vibes. Its weird.
I wanted to listen to his argument, but I couldn’t get over “Moray”
ESPN talking heads are exhausting
