I think he could’ve been better if Doc used him right, Doc fucked up the development of a few of our young players besides Maxey, damn near killed reeds career too

Tisse defence is elite and wayyyy too good for him to be overrated … even if his offence was terrible … if he can bring that 3point percentage up and a softer touch he can be a solid role player in a good system..

Mine is Efthimios Rentzias. Not worth the 2004 and 2006 2nd rd picks.

I feel like his off ball defense was elite and he could get his hand on the ball a lot but he also gambled a lot and depended on a recovery block where he fouled often. Also his on ball defense was never really that impressive. I always liked him and wish he could’ve worked out though

I think the most overrated player was easily Ben Simmons. His defense was good, but moreso benefited from having Embiid behind him locking down the paint. Ben’s offensive game wasn’t Magic Johnson level like some people who make highlight reels claim. He was a flashy passer in transition, but he didnt read the court well when the defense was set. And off-ball he just hid under the basket most of the time.

Unpopular opinion but Robert Covington. Overrated as an individual defender (better as a team defender kind of like Thybulle). Couldn’t finish reliably around the rim

Thybulle’s peak was that pacers game where they were down 20+ in the fourth and Ben and matisse absolutely went insane defensively to win the game

People are picking very easy choices. I’d love a controversial choice like Dikembe Mutmbo (as a Sixer, not his entire career). Completely clunky offensive game, of course, but very slow on his feet (as opposed to Theo Ratliff who was a blocks leader while being mobile). He was obviously an intimidating tower when standing under the basket, but couldn’t adjust to the defensive three second rule.

I want to say someone from the 00-01 team that benefitted from AI’s brilliance. Kevin Ollie or Eric Snow maybe? But, if anyone says Aaron McKie I will riot

  10. I mean Zhaire Smith rings a lot of bells.

A lesser known one is def Jonah Bolden. We used a frp in him and could have had Brandon Clarke instead and dude isn’t even in the nba anymore

Roco. Overrated defender but king of deflections.
