Dame is not getting traded’ the blazers had the the number # 1offense Dame had his most efficient season why? He played off ball because of the ability of afreenee Simons, justice windslow and josh Hart play making ability, now they have Scoot Henderson to be the playmaker, The Blazer had the number offense before January nobody talk about that fact.
Love seeing the reports Miami Heat are frustrated with negotiations, well good for them. I bet the Blazers are frustrated seeing their bs offers for Dame who’s coming off his best year. At least they’re both frustrated. I’m all for Blazers just saying bring your best offer or we’ll just keep him. Absolutely it is good news. I still stand by the statement “the man happily signed a supermax extension.
If Dame’s ‘legacy’ is so important to him, then either stay in Portland and fulfill your contract terms, OR Expand your list of teams you want to be traded to.”
Miami has lost two BIG PLAYERS that were instrumental in them making the finals.
Adding Dame just guts their team further.
A team that can’t afford to lose anymore players to make the playoffs again and go deep isn’t in the cards for them this year, at least.
Adding Dame doesn’t help them defensively either.
The longer Portland plays this out, the better.
There will absolutely be a better offer by the trade deadline in February.
Simply put, Dame’s too valuable an asset to simply “move him to Miami, no matter what.” Portland needs to move him to a contender with better assets PERIOD.
Miami fans talk about how Portland somehow “owes Dame what he wants because he’s been loyal to Portland.”
What about the Heat being loyal to Dwayne Wade? He left for Chicago in 2016 because the Heat didn’t “reward him because of his loyalty.” That entitlement mentality is laughable.

If the Blazers keep Dame, they will need to curtail his minutes. Running Dame into the ground is dumb. Yes, we need to see if he can play good next to Scoot, or you put Dame in the backup point off the bench and see if the starting guards play well. You have to play Dame, because you are paying him for four years and millions per season. But managing his minutes is necessary and something Billups hasn’t done or Stotts before him. Dame needs to reign in the 15 shots from 3 range per night. His usage rate and minutes per game is too high.
I suspect the truth is too boring for the media to handle. It is obvious a multi team trade is what is going to happen. The Blazers need to find a third team to get involved. That is going to take time. Not to mention Jacquez cannot be traded until Aug 1. In the meantime, there is no reason for the Blazers to call Miami. The media becomes aware of the phone silence and their imaginations start running wild.
