The Houston Rockets RUINED Their Rebuild!

The Houston Rockets have amassed a plethora of young talent from Jalen Green and Jabari Smith jr to recently drafted Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore. With the addition of Ime Udoka this summer the Rockets decided to speed up the process, spending insane money on Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks. This video discusses their offseason and explains why this offseason is ruined their rebuild.

  1. I don’t mind them signing brooks and van vleeet to help their defense , but signing them both for that amount of money is nuts. Not many teams were in a rush to sign either players let alone for that money.

  2. They needed to spend the money. I’m just glad they didn’t go the harden or Kyrie route 🙂 I’m happy with the prospects with got in the 3 drafts . And coach is great 🙂 and now decent vets 🙂 and cam Whitmore falling to us 😉

  3. you lost the fact, that they don´t have their own pick next year. that is the reason, they invest in this year. landale is non guaranteed. fvv also only 2 years. AND the team strongly needed vets with impact. now they are there. in the offseason they could trade those contracts and initiate the direction again.

  4. Everyone have to earn their minutes from here on out. We under a new coach and system. Take that!! 🤘🏾🚀

  5. I don’t like this take, they COMPLETED the rebuild meaning no more tanking for picks, your foundation is set so now you focus on making these guys mesh and figuring there roles out, getting back into the playoffs then contention

As much as I want amen to start, he needs to earn that because we all saw the success of this team when it was ran by 20 year olds and teenagers for the last 2-3 seasons, that method didn’t work, so it’s time to bring in veterans. No more 22 win seasons, if they win 10 more games next season (they’ll definitely win more) how did they ruin the rebuild? They have the same young core of 7 players, we didn’t need Tyty Usman or Jaygup anymore we don’t have time to wait for them to develop let alone the fact that those guys don’t have all star level upside, they will peak as role players most likely, there’s literally no way you can say they’ve ruined it when they have the exact same core. We still have WAY too many guys we’ll have to pay in the future so I’m so relieved we got rid of those 3 guys and KJ even though I liked all of them

We HAD To spend that money and we spent it on quality players who all hustle on defense and will influence that dog mentality/winning culture, this is just icing on the cake on top of that young core

Vanvleet/Green/Brooks/Jabari/Sengun is likely the starting lineup and Amen/KPJ/Cam/Tari/Landale off the bench, who’s stopping that bench? Everyone will be able to get quality minutes besides probably Jeff green and Cam so I don’t see a huge problem. Fred only has 2 years guaranteed on his contract I think we all know he won’t be taking Amens spot in that starting lineup for long.

  6. I disagree the Rockets did a great job because every team need vets so the young guys can develop the right way you can’t have all rookies develop on their own because it never works out.
