I was just going to comment in about this. I thought the same thing. Paul George and Mikal know basketball and they seem quite impressed with how easily Cam Thomas scores. That tells me a lot. JV better give him a real opportunity this year.

Cam Thomas gave BOTH of them 40 his second year in the league. And both of their teams were amazing defensively.

NBA players respect getting buckets off of ISO attempts over all else. But it isn’t as important a skill as the NBA players rank it. Still the Cam season is bizarre. We’ve never seen and never will see again a player go for three 40+ point games in a row and then the next week the coach say, “Yeah, I’m good. You can sit on the bench.”

For the record: On February 7 Cam scored his third consecutive 40+-point game. On February 11, he got 18 minutes of run.

People are overrating the Lonnie Walker signing. It shouldn’t be hard for Cam to take his spot.

You could tell how much both Kawhi and PG respected Cam’s performance after that game they both seeked him out to dapped him up.

I don’t know why Cam wasn’t a lottery pick but he doesn’t deserve to be buried on the bench, he should’ve been someone’s franchise player or at least their 2nd option.

I love Cam, but I’ll never stop laughing at how his 40-streak ended.

I may be misremembering, but I’m pretty sure that it was right after the streak was broken that the league announced the amount of his fine for his language in the third night’s interview – $40,000

Cam should be looked at a similar light as Claxton. Claxton is older and had more time to develop but there’s no overlooking 2-3 40 point games back to back to back basically. This guy might have flaws but no reason he wasn’t getting major run off the bench especially at the end of the season and into the playoffs.

Same reason why I hope Ollie becomes head coach when Vaughn ultimately gets fired.
