  1. Y’all are missing Austin’s point though. He’s not saying Dame can’t ask for a trade. His issue is that Dame saying Miami or bust. When you’re a free agent, you get to flex your muscles and pick where you want but when you’re under contract, unfortunately your future aint in your hands anymore and when players decide to sit out or throw a fit (not saying Dame has) because they want to go to a specific team, then the league is in trouble.

  2. Lebron james is the face of player empowerment but he did it differently than what these players do. He operated within the structure of his contract. Idc what joy says there is no place on this earth that a job pays you and then you dictate to them where you want to work. The players have gotten more bold with the demands. First it was a big deal asking for a trade w 1year left on your contract but the player still had leverage. Now they have 4 years and they want out. This messes with the economic balance of the league.

  3. Exactly, what ppl aren’t understanding is as an organization you have a responsibility when having a star player in your team. It’s not just have a great talent under contract & they will help sell tickets & keep fans excited lol. NO, these players are human & has aspiration other then making money. Because all the teams in the league would pay those player. What as an organization can you do that separates you to further accommodate said player. Whether it’s Culture, Location, Marketing, Winning, Pandering ect…

  4. 60 million dollars contracts not serious? So what the point of the max then? So would the league be wrong to pay these players significantly less since contracts not a big deal that doesn't have to be honored?

  5. It’s stupid to think he is wrong for requesting trade. If they keep him too long, end up like Bradley Beal, team not playing well, no media coverage, not going into rebuild soon enough, and waste players prime. The sooner you realize you are not able to build a contender around 1 player. Need to immediately start to rebuild. Player like dame helps keep butts in the seats and helps sell merchandise. Least y’all could do was trade the 3rd pick for someone. Disappointing how everyone turning on dame…

  6. If I'm Portland, I would void his contract and move on( out of respect for him and let go where he wants to) but if he wants to keep his money I have to get the best deal I can get.. that would be my offer to him.

  7. Keep the same situation and change the name to LeBron James, I guarantee the narrative, especially Ric Bucher, would not be in support of Dame.

  8. Every man at that table had to choke on their tongue when she went on that rant about how… "contracts don't matter"… I understand the context in which it was used… I understand the words that she chose to use and the ones she intentionally avoided…

    Women are sociopaths

  9. the Blazers are TERRIBLE! Portland is embarrassed Lillard wants to leave, so the Blazers are on a mission to destroy Dame's credibility.

  10. Joy talking like contracts are not legally binding, I'd like to see her boss not pay her and see how fast she brings up her contract.

  11. Dame been there 10 years, Austin Rivers shouldn't have brought up Dame. Bringing up Harden or KD is fair but not Dame

  12. Can not stand Joy… Portland should do what’s best for them. If he really wants to win, give them more than one team he wants to go to

  13. Problem with the league…. Hand full of STARS…. Then the rest of the League SUCKS…. Draft. Maybe 2 legit… rest Bust… NBA has failed.

  14. Players sign contracts and play poor me when the team doesn’t bend the knee and trade them. You made your own bed Lillard time to sleep in it.

  15. For the record, Dame’s a grown man. He signed his supermax extension happily and didn’t put a “No trade clause” in it.

Portland has paid him a quarter of a million dollars to play there. The team also gave him power as to when they’d leave from the city they were playing in, consulted with him regarding personnel moves before making them… they gave Dame a TON of respect.

“Where he goes” isn’t as big a deal as to “only Miami, because that’s where Dame wants to be traded to.”

Are you really serious that it’s not a “good move for the NBA if PDX doesn’t trade him to Miami?

What if it’s Boston? What about Brooklyn? Do you think the “exposure in those two cites” are worse than Miami?

Celtics v Lakers with Dame a Celtic would be MUST SEE TV and GREAT for the NBA.

I think what upsets Portland fans like myself, is this player entitlement mentality. I’m sick of it. This is a business and I follow the Blazers. I want them to get the best assets that they can and trade for the third best player they ever had.

Dame has a real shot to win a ring and Portland gets much better compensation than Miami can offer. Portland will never get equal value… But they should get better value than Miami’s offering.

Even if it’s held up until the trade deadline in February, Portland will get much better compensation when teams field. They are one player away from winning at all. Just like Brooklyn did with KD. That worked pretty well for them didn’t it? Portland… take your time here. You don’t owe Miami anything. I think you owe Dame a trade to a contender. That should be good enough and better compensation.

  16. Using marriage is a really bad analogy because that’s supposed to be in till death do us part and you can argue. It should be a blood contract because it’s for kids and family and staying together until you die not very honorable or good in any way to leave a marriage, where, as a contract being wrapped up in any other sort of walk of life she’s right it’s not that serious, but marriage basically should be a blood oath 😂😂

  17. it would be a big deal but he's demanding to get traded to one team that was just in the Finals this year and wants their core kept intact so it's 100% ring chasing and super team stacking at the expense of his current team

  18. it would be a big deal but he's demanding to get traded to one team that was just in the Finals this year and wants their core kept intact so it's 100% ring chasing and super team stacking at the expense of his current team

  19. 2:50 I disagree my marriage is a lifetime commitment. It’s going to take time and it going to take work. I’m dames situation I agree, because he has the right to go especially since the teams can trade you at will. Players are going to get traded in the same trade if it happens.

  20. They are ridiculous , they complete missed the most important part when Rivers mentioned that a trade request to 1 team was bad for the league. They not even debating the accurate quote

  21. How you TJ HOUUZYAMAMA on your roster and give the slot to shady is absolute nonsense… or Greg Jennings!! Good lord take acho and shady give us TJ AND GREG

  22. Joy Talyor proved herself not to be marriage material "it's not that serious" 🤔

  23. The nuggets were not homegrown organic like the first ring warriors
Aaron Gordon was a team friendly 90 mil dollar pick up.Took on kcp contract to add on with the enormous other 3 contracts. They owe out bout 700 million ez
