The Memphis Grizzlies completed a three team trade with the Boston Celtics. While trading away Tyus Jones and picks, they acquired Marcus Smart. Jones was a great backup point guard and was reliable, but Smart is a much better fit for the Grizzlies. With Morant suspended for 25 games, Smart will play the point guard on both sides of the court. He’ll need to have a bigger scoring role with Morant out. Smart will be guarding the opposing teams best ball handler which gives Ja an easier matchup defensively and the ability to conserve some energy for his offensive play. He also bring a ton of playoff experience as he has been in the playoffs in every year he’s been in the NBA. He also made the NBA Finals in 2022. This makes the Grizzlies the No. 1 contender to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference.

I think if we use Marcus smart right and ja become a better person to become a better athlete we will be a title contender team that will win the title this season. With him ja des and jaren with Steven Adams will become dangerous for all team including the nuggets

Without Dillon Brooks jacking up 3s, Grizzlies will do fine from the 3s. Bane was playing with a hurt toe last season. With a healthy bane, and Luke, Grizzlies' 3 ball will be solid.

Marcus smart to the grizzles will be a good fit till game 26 when ja Morant comes back and Marcus smart thinks the grizzles are his team and smart is hucking up the final shot in games. Smart was a starting point guard with TWO all NBA wing players and smart was lucky to average 3 assists per game. People remember the play of smart diving on the floor for a loose ball but always seem to forget him going 1for11 from three and hucking up the last shot in a close game. DPOY last year and then wasn't even the best defensive guard on the Celtics this past season, Derek white made an all defensive team yet smart didn't. Marcus smart won DPOY because the Celtics and smart put out a season long campaign about how no guard has won it since Gary Payton and blah blah. In the playoffs smart was literally checking himself into games, Derek white and Malcom brogdon were out playing smart on both sides of the ball for weeks and yet smart was still starting and finishing games . Couple summers ago a magazine was supposed to have a cover of Tatum and brown and the Celtics forced smart in with them as a "big3" well can't be part of a big 3 when you've never sniffed the playoffs. Most Celtics fans thought smart was such a leader and important piece and yet those same fans would complain the team had no leadership? This Celtics fan never thought I'ld see the day of Marcus smart Playing on another team let alone being traded, thank you Marcus smart for your time as a Celtic, more importantly THANK YOU brad Stevens for having the 🏀🏀 s to trade Marcus smart.
