Am I the only one that believes NBA basketball in 2016 was the best year in the past decade? W video
Do the Kyrie Celtics Team next (the team that was supposed to be the next dynasty)
That old OKC team in 2016 was just a vibe. Life, and really the NBA as a whole, was so nostalgic back then
I shouldn’t have watch that video… I wish they went to the finals man
To me it honestly still doesn’t matter cause Lebron was def beating the 2016 thunder that year
This is easily one of the most informative NBA videos I have ever seen. Never even considered this topic before.
Take a shot every time swish says literally
2017 OKC with KD would probably went on to the finals and probably lose and in 2018 they would lose to either GSW or Houston, but i think 2019 was their year, they would probably win chip with KD and Russ
Lebron would have like 7 rings
The talk around the league was that while GS was the most complete team in terms of playing team basketball, and while Cleveland had the best player, OKC was the most talented roster in the league. I hate that context in conversations like that get lost to time
IF the thunder never blew that 3-1 Lead, do they beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals?
Loved rewatching these OKC teams but in reality their roster construction was very flawed(horrible spacing) and even then, if KD stays I don’t see them winning past 2017
SWISHOUT, you shoukd make a video of the 2012 Thunder with KD, Harden, and Russ! (Great-team)
1:13 this man had hair AND A FADE
I kinda of think of the Russ-KD Okc era as like a BETTER version of the Clippers. Got deeper in the playoffs than the Clippers but always fell short for whatever reason to win the whole thing.
Yk what’s funny? I stg I was just going on a rampage this morning watching game 6 and 7 on my tv wondering how the nba could’ve been if OKC won either game 6 or 7😂😂😂
2016 Thunder was one of the most talented teams of that era. With the Warriors tired and hobbled, they were the best team in those playoffs and should have won the championship that year.
Does Ramona Shelburne have trained eyes then?😄 9:36
Great vid this might be the most significant event in my life tbh
Contrary to popular belief, I actually don’t believe Okc would’ve ultimately won a ring because I thing the Warriors just figured them out and their simple iso scheme.
OKC brings so much nostalgia for that early 2010s
Ik a lot of people blame Russ but in reality Okc had no ball movement on offense and just relied on KD and Russ iso plays and not to mention the fact that they had NO shooters around KD and especially Russ who thrives with spacing.
Music at 7:20?
Poor Russ
It surprises me how Okc were actually in games considering how SIMPLE their offense was
2016 for me was one of my favorite years of my life. As a thunder fan, I had never been so excited over this team and then so heartbroken when they blew their 3-1 lead.
And when I saw this video, I said “Oh no, I hate remembering this teams series vs GS” 😂
7 years later and Kevin Durant still doesn't have a (legit) championship.
i always loved steven adams face at 2:06
Who do yall think would've won the finals in 2016 if it was Okc vs the Cavs? In hindsight it's easy to say Cleveland because they came back 3-1 but idk man Okc would've beaten two historically great teams in like 5-6 games to get there so I think they probably would've won in 7 against the Cavs. Also kd would possibly cement himself on bron's level or possibly greater in some eyes that would've been to cold
I remember being in 4th grade knowing my thunder was up 3-1 little did I expect this to happen I was pissed
Thunder would’ve beaten the cavs
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO! Great cover, great idea. Wow brought back memories
It’s not just the thunder it’s the entire season and mostly Playoffs that still have shockwaves to this day, it’s honestly incredible that a single season can have such an impact on sport, the Thunder blowing a 3-1 lead before it was as common as it is today leading to KD leaving and then not only that Golden State blowing their own 3-1 lead in the finals allowing KD to join but something that isn’t really mentioned that also fell into place allowing for that warriors superteam is the new tv deal at the time which was a 9 year 27 billion dollar deal, then the NBPA forcing all that new cash flow to go in at once which allowed Golden state to sign KD, so much resulted from that.
You always talk about on your channel that heavy isolation basketball eventually plateaus (and there's a lot of evidence of this being true) HOWEVER for kyrie/bron in 2016 it did work for them because look at how many shots they were taking compared to the rest of the team. If kd/russ isolation play got them to the finals who's style do you think would eventually win OKC russ/kd or the Cavs bron/kyrie? personally I'm gonna say the cavs still because bron led in every cater gory in the 2016 finals not just scoring
2016 team was fun to watch. When he joined the warriors i was mad like everyone else. But he felt like it was the right decision
W video bro
As a Thunder fan, I don’t need to see this 😂
This is easily one of the biggest what ifs in NBA history.
Banger video bro loved this one ☝🏾
2016 Westbrook.. that whole season was where Westbrook memes started 😂😂 it was literally meme after meme
My question is , WHY did this team blow a 3-1 lead in the WCF …
This is why he's referred to as Larry legend! By the way he won those three MVPs in a row with a bad back. He injured his back in 1984 while shoveling snow for his mom. So he had a chronic back injury that point forward.
Smh that team changed the rest of the decade forever man
The OKC thunder DID NOT draft 3 future mvps in a row. 2 were selected by the Sonics. The other was unfortunate to be drafted to a team that plays in Oklahoma 🤢. So they drafted 1 future MVP.
this team blew over 10+ game going in to the 4th quarter with a 10 point lead fun fact
Loved this team back then. This was the only season in which KD and Russ were superstars on the same team and were on the cusp of becoming one of the greatest teams in nba history had they beaten the warriors. They’re legacies would’ve been extremely different if they ended up winning the chip that season
JT and JB are looking to be the new version of Russ and KD
– drafted in back to back years as top 5 picks
– developed into superstars/stars
– early playoff success resulting in multiple conference finals runs
– only one final appearance
– consistent failing to reach the finals/win a title
– one half of the duo leaves in free agency/gets traded??? (Personally believe that Jaylen brown will request a trade after the Celtics fall short in the playoffs again next year)
I guarantee ESPN will make a 30 for 30 on the KD Russ okc years in about 10 years
I wanted okc to win so bad smh
