The Los Angeles Lakers have done a complete 180 in terms of roster management compared to the years prior and have emerged as big winners in the 2023 NBA offseason. Rob Pelinka deserves a ton of credit for bolstering this team, and the combination of retaining key players from last season and bringing in strong replacements for guys they’ve lost have solidified themselves as a Western Conference threat. In this video, I briefly discuss the roster mistakes the Lakers made in the past and how Rob Pelinka’s ability to learn from them has paid off.

Cant wait to see some of these roster changes in action
Lakers might be the favorites next year ngl
Lebron was the GM them years. Rob is making the moves this year.. you can tell.
coach must changes
Lakers have had a great off season
Somehow, the Lakers managed to keep most of the core from last year (DLo, Reaves, Rui, Vando) and added some new pieces that fleshed out the roster a little more (Vincent, Prince, Cam, Hayes). Vincent is Dennis' replacement, being a pesky POA defender that is also a decent shooter behind the arc. Prince is Troy's replacement, a 3-and-D wing that can match up with different defensive assignments when needed. Cam is Lonnie's replacement, a raw, young talent that also adds size and versatility and could potentially help the team add new dimensions to their offensive plays. Hayes is a young, athletic big that is also a project in the works and could give Ham some new big lineups to run. The team still needs another big man that is bulky and willing to play physical as well as a scorer that can take the offensive load off Bron and AD, but overall, I think the Lakers did decently this free agency.
Denver losing Bruce Brown and the Lakers keeping all their guys might put them over the edge
Where’s Irving in lakers team?????
2:59 Important context to note is that thanks to the Westbrook trade and his expensive contract, the Lakers only had enough money to sign vet minimums. That's why the Lakers' bench was filled with washed up vets, some of them were even former Laker players at one point in the past.
I'm hyped for this new yet familiar Laker team. Each signing was an upgrade from the past roster and they made it to the West Finals with that past roster. Also, the Nuggets lost a lot of depth this offseason, including their main bench scorer Bruce Brown. I think the Lakers have a chance to be legit finals contenders this year if all goes well
Suns are still gonna smash em
First time to listen to you and you are excellent analyst.
We got younger and lengthier definitely, Rob left the team with so much flexibility! All amazing contracts and young players. I think we need another Big and we’re going to the finals 🏆🔥🔥🔥🙏🏼
The suns are better 😅😅😅😅😅
You really don’t know what you’re talking about, he traded everyone because lebron and AD wanted Westbrook and thought they could make it work. Westbrook ate up all the cap space. This was never Rob’s fault
YES KING 👑
AMEN SO RT
BUT I WISH WE COULD HAVE NOT LET WALKER GO
Lakers needed to revamp. winning is in their DNA With young core and proven vets with LeBron and AD and good set of role players are winning all 🥇Not just making W.C finals..jobs not done!
