My personal feeling is that the league is pivoting away from wing players who can’t shoot. I know Dawkins loved this idea of tall players who can pass, dribble and shoot at OKC, but Deni is missing the third component. Players in their 4th year don’t often develop a great shot out of nowhere, so my hopes are pretty low. It doesn’t help that his shot mechanics are terrible. The form is just *bad*. I don’t think he can be a starter without that dimension to his game.
The defense is great. The rebounding is great. There’s some playmaking upside. He’s just not reliable on offense and you know which version of him you’re getting within the first 3 minutes of the game. If he’s having a good shooting night then he’s going to be able to attack closeouts and get easy dunks. If he’s not hot from 3 then the other team is going to play drop and prevent him from getting to the basket. It’s that simple.

Can he? Yes
Will he? I guess we’ll find out, now won’t we.
All I know, is that when Deni grabs a board the other 4 guys *need* to be ready to run. Idk how many times I saw last year guys were just unwilling to run with Deni.

This article describes him as having a “creaky handle.”
Which is a little closer to the truth than the narrative that he never got a fair chance to run the offense.

Well he finally got his number back so I’d say all star starter is his absolute floor tbh.

Let’s assume he won’t, what happens with him next?
