The Los Angeles Lakers were able to keep Austin Reaves in 2023 NBA free agency after signing him to a 4-year contract worth approximately $55 million. However, the San Antonio Spurs were considering giving Reaves, a restricted free agent, an offer sheet worth $21 million per season. The Lakers likely would have matched the offer sheet, keeping Reaves in Hollywood anyways. The Lakers also signed Jaxson Hayes in 2023 NBA free agency, and according to reports, the Lakers might be using Jaxson Hayes in the starting lineup alongside Anthony Davis in the frontcourt.
