Good afternoon everyone. As it was just reported by Ian Bagley Ben Simmons is close to a 100 percent and is fully past his rehab and is ready to go into training camp with the intention of earning the starting point guard role…..
A healthy available Ben Simmons would be a great goal to start the season. Second if Ben Simmons can return to his elite defensive level Brooklyn overall improved defense as a group goes up another level 🔥…
Third if Ben Simmons returns as a high level playmaker with his assist passes that can greatly help unlock and increase the teams overall offensive production…
Let's hope this is the start of Ben Simmons coming back ready to compete….
Also we need to keep this in mind. If Ben Simmons returns to the starting rotation as the lead point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie role comes into question. Logic dictates he would make a great backup sixth man playmaker off the bench to help lead the second unit…
Or we could look at the three team trade scenarios with Miami and Portland and that a Spencer dinwiddie and 2025 first round draft pick could be used to acquire Tyler Herro….
Next off-season both Spencer dinwiddie and Nic Claxton are due for big pay raises. Unfortunately Brooklyn doesn't have the financial cap space to give Dinwiddie a final big contract and will greatly prioritize resigning Nic Claxton…
A potential Tyler Herro Mikal Bridges Ben Simmons Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton rotation 🔥🔥🔥 could be very interesting and unlock this teams full potential….
Also if Nic Claxton can expand his offensive game even more and add a jumpshot and possibly three point scoring that would bode well for Ben Simmons snd Claxton ability to coexist on the court more 🔥… Plus allowing Ben to feed Claxton some great lobs will only build on their chemistry more…
If Ben Simmons returns to the starting unit with Claxton the backup center issue becomes tougher to deal with because Dayron sharpe and Darius Bazley are the only realistic options…
It would be nice to fill up that last roster spot with a veteran backup center whether that's Javale Magee who could serve as a mentor and depth piece or Christian Wood who is still a free agent and could rebuild his value in Brooklyn and add a offensive pop off the bench 🔥….
Hope Brooklyn addresses that issue…
Let's hope he's TRULY healthy and can return to his elite defensive prowess and drives to the basket. If so, we can treat him as the draft pick we don't receive next season
