I love Sidy – will be rooting for him. After really observing him during the summer, he is reminiscent of an athletic version of Boris Diaw with more aggressive defense, but still needs to work on 3 pointers and a mid-range shot. yes his passing is impressive. He's not a ball stopper that's for sure
Agreed. Last year Barlow was Raw, but THIS Summer he showed SO MUCH growth. He will be converted to full NBA contract after Trade Deadline when roster spots get cleared up.
Even in Summer League I thought that Dominick is a very rough diamond. He has a LOT to learn, but his potential is high and the Spurs obviously see something in him. It will be fun to watch him develop. I haven't really seen much of Cissoko yet, but if he was the #43 pick he must be pretty good!
It will be fascinating to see how the Spurs pare down their roster from 18 to 15 in the coming weeks. I expect Birch to be waived, and that Brian Wright will try to trade 2 of these four; Wesley, Grahm, Bullock, Osman, prior to the start of the season.
Congrats to both. Since Sidy isn't on a two-way doesn't that mean there is still one available? I guess some cuts or trades are coming soon since 3 players have to go.
They can evaluate Barlow's improvement at the trade deadline and he can take a roster spot of one of the vets that will most likely get traded for draft assets.
As for Keldon coming off the bech. Tom Orsborn: Keldon Johnson on if he would be open to a new role next season coming off the bench, “Yeah. I just want to win. Whatever I got to do to win, I am looking forward to that, so we’ll see how it goes.”
Man, this is going to be a fun year! As you said, a lot of growing pains, but we've got some great young talent and some guys who have some growing to do maybe in Austin. Pop may still experiment with different lineups with all these guys, so we must be patient. I saw somewhere that Keldon talked about being open to a new role it that's what's asked of him, like coming off the bench. Hopefully, he will have a consistent year since he won't be trying to carry as much. GO SPURS GO!!!
