Drink every time a former player says dumb shit to get some much needed attention.
Guys like Giannis treat Wemby with a lot of respect. You know why? Unlike T-Mac, Giannis will have to play against Wemby for the next ~decade. T-Mac can say whatever he wants, he'll NEVER have to back it up on a court.
Literally just got to see giannis face when he’s talking about wemby! This ain’t the 00’s anymore, the talent in the league is phenomenal and even then wemby is an alien. Some salty takes for sure but it’s balanced out with the best players of todays game all marvelling over his potential and skill set coming into the league
I think the “He’s new, from France” is meant to convey that his background makes him more intriguing than a comparable NCAA prospect.
This may sound a little bias as TMAC is my favorite basketball player but i dont think this is hate. I look at this as a precaution. Those players he talked about are good (not on wembys level to me of course) but were also very injury prone. This coming from tmac another VERY injury prone player and a player who entered the league very young.I think this is his way of playing it safe, he wants to see if wemby can handle injuries in the US and handle the media hounding him 24/7. He doesnt want to put even more unneccessary pressure.
Im excited for the next season to start Lets go SPURS!

I think T Mac sounds more concerned here than critical. Wemby's already shown impatience with the G-league media circus, so NBA level media is prolly gonna be a real concern. T Mac's a former Spur too! He might even be in those rooms mentoring Wemby thru injuries, media, etc and telling him this type of stuff.

I dont like the way he brings it up. It looks like the same as when luka came: most players doubted him and 12 month later came back saying he's mvp caliber. But he's right about the big picture : they need more faces for the future of the league especially since Ja did Ja and most 2000s-2010s MVPs will retire over the next 5 years.
Based on the other players, he mentioned he was saying is that foreign players are going to get more hype. For that is one of the reasons he’s getting promoted by the NBA in the media.
