how he plays cannot be taught… jumping out the gym and flying in to block shots… I love it everytime
basically we gave up a pure shooter who cant play defense for potentially a swiss army knife, offensively and defensively. thats a risk im willing to take 10 times out of 10.

Fudge has MUCH MUCH more bounce than Vandy. If you cant see the difference im not sure if you saw him play.

Now there is a stipulation to using the 3rd 2 way contract… When the season starts You absolutely have to use the 15th roster spot rather than having 14 players and using the 2 ways to save the organization money. If you don’t carry 15 players you can only use 2 at the time the season starts. My feeling is that we will sign a 14th player (a center) and use the 15th spot for Castleton. Which would leave a 2 ways spot open at the start of the season… Maybe use it to bring Swider back or possibly Figueroa from the summer league …
Solid move waiving swider. He hadn’t shown much improvement compared to last year and while we don’t know what fudge will provide, we do know that swider was not it. One dimensional players don’t work in todays nba. Better to move on and test the odds with a new player rather than waiting for a player to take a step forward he most likely will not take.
I think we can make Alex Fudge our 3&D Wing like how vando is just make sure he gets bigger, train with phil and this will be another steal of Rob the goat.
Swider is not physically fit. His ceiling is George Niang. Fudge is a Derrick Jones Jr.

I thought Figueroa did a better job in today he summer league and swider did well but didn’t show off defensive handles 😢
I love his athleticism and that was the biggest thing missing from Cole swider. I think they hoped he would work himself into more athleticism but that was always difficult. If he’s a gym rat then he’s going to be fine, if not then it’s a low risk thing. I like the move.

"Eye eye," said the captain. With Fudge you get what you see, a lot of potential, but at least he's not a 6' 1" guard lol. Guess what? He's a "Wing" in the waiting. lol. The Lakers are beginning to "farm wings" for the future, preparing for the event of the century, Lebron's retirement.
I like this move. Swider had reached his limit, he showed no Defensive improvements. I know Fudge is a major drop in Offense, he is only 20 and has potential. If nothing else he will be a great player in practices, to push the starters. He might not play many minutes, but that is fine.
Love the message Lakers are sending. Show improvements on DEFENSE or get the heck out, we don't need a 3 and nothing else player.
Have no problem with the decision, at least for now. A year seems enough time to see whether Swider could improve. Players waived by Lakers don’t usually grow to perform well on another team. We’ll see what happens.
And at 20, he may grow another 2 inches to boot.

At the end of the day, the Lakers needed another front court player more than they needed another guard. They call the position for which Cole Swider was signed “3 and D,” and I saw very little D from him, even up to and including this year's summer league.
He reminded me a lot of what we saw from Russell Westbrook during his time with the Lakers. Camping under the basket to steal rebounds from his teammates when he SHOULD be defending his man. 🤷🏻♂️

Meh, it was a low risk gamble either way because neither of these young men have proven themselves yet and are basically still G league level athletes. I'm intrigued by A.F's defense and potential but I also liked Swiders 3 ball ability. Will it come back to bite us in the a##… at this point only time will tell.

I trust the scouting department of lakers team, everybody is given the time /oppurtunity to show up before it decide to cut a player🎉🎉🎉
As compare to others that can easily say that a certain player is a bust without a basis, Castleton, Hodge, Fudge🎉🎉

I agree with the decision made with Swider and Fudge. Swider is a great shooter and should be picked up by a team that needs shooting. Fudge's comparison with Vado is intriguing to say the least. #lakers4ever
