I asked chat gpt to calculate with science what nba season was the most difficult.
I came up with an idea for teams with star players. A star player is a player that is above average by a certain threshold in a stat. They get a point. And if they lead the league that year they get double points for it. Their team gets a score based on their star players and those teams get ranked amongst their competition.
Whatever season has the highest combined team star player score was the most difficult.
You can do this for either regular season or playoffs. They might tell different stories. But no player has ever gotten more than 6 star points. Kobe MJ LeBron have 5 seasons with 5.
