Shaq vs Yao Ming was an amazing head to head face off. Yao was a rookie that had big buzz and Shaq underestimated his prowess. Yao and Shaq were giants and competed at a high level in their first matchup. The Lakers were the defending champs and were beaten in a close game by the Houston Rockets. This was a classic game and it solidified Yao Ming as one of the best centers in the league.
