Kevin O’Connor is the reason I recognize professional sports franchises stay bad. He understands analytics and fandom but he doesn’t understand basketball, people, or any historical perspective.
When you’re in a championship window you double-down until the window closes. No matter how frustrating it may be, you tinker (as they have) to stay in that window.
and Big Foot sitting in the crowd, and Lochness Monster at the pier. Clippers going to the finals will be epic.
1 more year then sign and trade hoping both Kawhi and PG agree to it, clippers gotta get something back. What a bummer for Balmer. It was so promising. Only thing to show for it is a 2021 WCF finals appearance.

Limewire was fucked up. There was a written description of the file but you didn't know what you had until it was downloaded. Sometimes it was as described. Until the Clippers gain back control of their draft picks, they won't trade Kawhi and PG. They're more likely to double down and trade for Harden. They're all in. Their goal is to win a championship. They won't get the same quality of players back if they trade their stars.

The people who know about Kawhi's situation is Steve Ballmer, Ty lue and the medical staff.
Are the clippers a good team? They cant win without Kawhi and thats the problem, the reason why Kawhi is always injured.
Westbrook, PG are not good enough to win games. Kawhi is carrying way more weight than he should playing with so called allstars.
As a clippers fan, the first thing that needs to happen is transparency. Nobody is being honest about what's really going on with kawhi. Is load management coming from him and his camp? Or is it the team and the training staff?

Bottom line – Ballmer does not want to be embarrassed by having a non-competitive team when the new arena opens so he will pay whatver it takes to have a compeititve team at that time. Perhaps it means overpaying for KL, PG, Harden or whoever can fulfill that function and he will also deal away any draft picks neccessary ( even if it means they suffer a few years later). Unlike most other owners, he will not listen to professional management regarding the Second Apron or other matters. Like most people he has an ego and will believe he can figure it out after the fact.
IMO they need to go all in on Harden. If it doesn’t work out they’re just going to blow it up anyway. I know there are a lot of Westbrook Stans out there, but Harden was significantly better last season.

i dont necessarily understand these takes, or the basis for the conversation.. im not sure speculation about ballmer's strongest urges even matters here. why would it be rational to gut a front office simply because there will be a new arena to play in? if the young players are developing steadily, we built one of the deepest rosters via free agency and trades, and are in playoff contention – why would you force a change and cause a disruption to continuity? i could see a new direction in player conditioning staff, but get outa here with needing to throw out the functions that work well because the courts in an adjacent city.
also if i remember correctly, leonard wasnt lured in by the young talent on the team – it was coming home and being able to ditch those assets to go get george.
only content creators and bettors would care about a player leaving a game with injury and not communicating whether or not theyll be able to come back in. none of our guys are ben simmons or rajan rondo: if they are suited up and can play, they will play.
all of the moves reported to have been considered have been tempered and the returns would have been side-grades with a different path to the same ceiling. the clips share a similar lack of luck as say, the chargers but will continue to play with the best hand available. if the fitness looks upward, you extend the duo and always consider equal alternative sidegrades… its simple – no 2k degree necessary

Balmer can do anything he wants. New CBA aprons should not matter to him. Balmer can buy every NBA , and NFL team and still have $40BN to play with. Balmer could make $1BN a year in INTEREST alone at just a 1% return!! Kawhi's contract is literally pennies to him.
When a players psyche on the team outweighs the stats…that is the time to walk. You have players averaging in the teens, playing every night, making an eighth the money looking at him like wtf? Then the resentment becomes a much larger issue for the team than the stats.
I’d trade PG to sac for picks and young players and Kawhi to Houston for the same type of package. I’ve seen rumors and trade ideas around those and if I’m the clippers I’d do it. Trade Powell, morris batum all the vets and start over. And 100% I’m offering Bob Myers whatever he wants to come in and rebuild

If you're a true contender you'd be a idiot to trade for Kawhi and you better have TWO very good to great players if you're trading for PG. As for any other team from regular playoff teams to the ones hovering near the playin would you really give up the valuable assets it would take to get either one of them?
