Scottie was playing other NBA players 1v1 and it didn’t go very well… (makes and misses included)
Missed a ton of shots/layups and his form still looks the exact same. He played decent defense but other than that didn’t show anything new. pic.twitter.com/wVJnOhCyJ0

Concerning how Barnes can be the PG given his inability to shoot or dribble drive. He couldn’t drive on MARVIN BAGLEY.

He might not be amazing, but the struggle he’ll go through at Pg should hopefully translate to success later
I trust he’ll be able to figure it out but its not realistic to expect him to be a great Pg now
Was that Marvin Bagley in the first bunch of clip? If it is we’re cooked
I don’t know how people are expecting him to transform into an NBA point guard with no time spent playing point guard in the nba. Give the dude a chance to make some mistakes and learn, sheesh.
Didn’t someone just post another video of a pro run where Scottie had like 6 assist highlights in PnR and transition? I wouldn’t put any weight into a summer run anyways, it’s basically high level pickup and there are no set plays or schemes on either side of the ball. I want to know he can run an offense with a bag of tools the coach provides. Not if he can win 1v1 with no help defense and random groups of pickup players. Summer is for cardio, strength and reps.
At the same time we’ve seen this literal 20 year old score in iso, late game against future hall of famers like KD, Lebron, Jokic. The truth is somewhere in the middle, otherwise you’re just trying to create some hyperbolic narrative for karma.
If Scottie can’t be a scoring threat, he’s not going to get much better. He really needs the scoring to unlock his game.
And this is why we shouldn’t trade Siakam for cheap just to make Scottie the #1 option.
Y’all I know it’s off season but stop.
Point guards create off of systems, they arnt street ball players.
well pack it up we’re a doomed franchise. time to tank for the next middle schooler /s
Yea his scoring still isn’t great, struggling to create separation and even going to the rim he’s not finishing with touch
Either he plays like a point guard and is the next Magic, or he plays with no improvements. You guys really can’t see in the middle.
Cause if he’s not perfect it’s useless to try to learn and grow ….
Peak off-season content lmfao, y’all are weird for posting a compilation where the dude only made 1 shot to the subreddit
Not being able to drive on Marvin Bagley in a pick up game is crazy, bagley is probably giving 40% on defense as well smh.
He’s probably working on some of his weaknesses – you all need to chill on these off-season videos
scottie has amazing summer highlights = means nothing, ben Simmons did this every year

scottie misses shots in same runs = see he sucks
meta off-season shitp0ast
The front office probably gets fired if they trade Pascal for a meager return and Scottie peters out
We’re judging guys now based on off-season 1 v 1 games where they’re going half-speed?
LOL never change, /r/torontoraptors. Never change.
well if your defender is gaping off you by about 2 metres, it’s going to be hard to dribble drive successfully…it’s not all bad, his passing will be good with no ball pressure
should i show the month of bad games where siakam couldnt hit the side of the backboard?. lol at opm trying to feed the narrative.
fanbase still thinks dude is some half court creator when he’s closer to a bam, sabonis type forward
how could he be a point guard? he could be a point forward, ala bron, draymond, slo mo anderson etc
Yeah I don’t think Scottie would be good in 1v1 as his skill is passing.
This footage is not good tho.
Awesome…so essentially we will be worse than last year lol
I have to leave this sub for a while and stay away from this team until they figure it out, it’s too frustrating lol
As someone who doesn’t think Scottie can be a true PG this season or anytime soon, I still appreciate that he’s at least putting work into his offensive arsenal, as rough as it right now. Some of you are trying too hard to set up Scottie to fail, and I’m pissed the FO low key is about to let him fall into the position of being the brunt of this season’s complaints.
Too many whiny confused people in here
Or maybe cause these are open runs and no one is trying that hard. These are made so guys can work on their moves
You can see Scottie thinking during his 1s lol he’s literally thinking of shit to try out. This isn’t the same as reactive movements & using awareness during a REAL basketball game
Of course if you only pick out the bad highlights in a video and toss them together it’s gonna look bad. This is stupid as hell
Scottie is a great athletic player but those of you thinking he will just become a paul George level of offence are dreaming
I never have taken the ‘Scottie as a PG’ narrative seriously. I don’t think the Raptors are seriously considering it either.
Get these negative vibes outta here
Oh we’re doing this again
Remember how everyone looked so good at the Rico Hines runs and guys like PG and Harden were raving about our team/guys and then we came out playing like shit?
Young player looks rough in a new role and needs time to adjust, more news at 11
Scottie has a long way to go at Point Guard, but that’s not nescessarily a cause for concern.
Point Guard is the hardest position to learn at an NBA level. Kyle Lowry, who played PG his entire life, including 2 seasons at Villanova, wasn’t a starting PG until 2010 – in his fifth season in the NBA, at 24 years old.
Scottie definately had some practice these last two years at point guard, but not a ton. Strap yourselves in for a bumpy ride while he learns the ropes, if Darko and Masai are also serious about him being a PG
Oh no, summer league lowlights

You can’t be great without mistakes
Well it’s a miss or make year – Scottie will either be magic Johnson or a bust at the end or middle of this year …..
It’s hard when you’re a zero level scorer with green freak expectations

Lookin like Scottie Bulk Barnes in that small ass jersey
There will be growing pains. Progress isn’t linear, just look at groat Lowry’s career progression. Nobody thought he would become a multiple all star after his 3rd season. Scottie will be good and bad this season. Just watch his progress good and bad, as he learns to become a full time PG in the nba.
Back in the ’90s, 2000s, hell, even the 2010’s players could develop in peace in the offseason.
Nowadays you have one off session and everything is hyper-analyzed.
We all know Scottie is not a finished product, and he has weaknesses he has to work on.
This is what that looks like. Let the man work in peace.
Shut the fuck up, man.
Only a 3rd year player, but it does give me doubts on him being a PG.
There is still a need for secondary ball handlers in any offense.
Its asking a lot for him to become a better defender, a lead PG, and rise up from bottom tier scoring efficiency all in one season.
SFs that act as PGs unless they are generational talents usually require several years of experience to come into their own. Few people with forward size have the touch of Luka (he is a point forward, sue me.) or Lebron.
