If you don’t think a lot of those accolades mean much, then just consider the big four accolades – rings, Finals MVP, MVP, DPOY and again, the player who sits at #1 on that list is Michael Jordan. Statistically, it’s a little less black and white. How do you define a player’s statistical impact? Advanced metrics are probably the best way to do this, though not perfect they are a much better reflection of player impact than anything else. When broken down to their per game numbers, stats like BPM, VORP, WS, PER & RAPTOR all have one player at the top of their career lists and again it’s Michael Jordan. So if you can come and knock him off of those, you deserve the GOAT status.
