ESPN Thinks The Detroit Pistons Will Be The Worst Team In The NBA… Are They Right Or Wrong?

ESPN came out with their very early power rankings for this upcoming NBA season and the Detroit Pistons were ranked as the worst team in the NBA. Will the Pistons actually be the worst team in the league next season and what needs to happen for the Pistons not only to be above the last place in the league but to compete for a play-in spot in the Eastern Conference?

  1. The Pistons will be better than Charlotte, Atlanta, San Antonio, Toronto, Washington, and Brooklyn.

  2. Unfortunately the team rises and falls with Cade and only Cade, the other guys just don’t have the skill set to impact a team like Cade does! Even if Cade shoots poorly he still plays a more winning style of basketball than anyone on the roster regardless of efficiency that’s why so much pressure is on him and although I agree Weever has done really well in drafts we don’t have all stars on the team to relieve that pressure. Ivey is good Duren is good but neither have the “it factor” like Cade does as both only impact 1 aspect of the game whereas Cades impact is felt everywhere on the floor.

  3. The Pistons will only be the worst team next season if you think they will tank it like last season. I'm sure there are other teams more likely to tank than the Pistons. Otherwise, until the Pistons start winning games, they earned that spot.

  4. I think fans tend to overvalue their own team's talent. As a longtime Pistons fan, I certainly hope we will see considerable improvement from our young core, and that leads to better overall team play, and that results in more competitive games and more wins. However, they have to prove themselves to the rest of the league, and that includes Cade.

  5. Bust is just blanket term for casuals. People who call players busts only looks at stats and don’t watch the actual games. The term itself is too broad to the point where if you don’t score 20+ points in 92.7% efficiency from the field your rookie year, you’re a bust. Some peoples opinions shouldn’t be valued or heard out if they don’t actually pay attention on the topic they’re trying to talk about.

  6. If our guards are shooting 40/30/80 we gonna be terrible. We've no pure scorer you can rely on in the clutch

  7. If they have players miss 294 games due to injuries again, then yeah, they would be the worst team in basketball again. Injuries played a key role in them being a 17-win team last year.

  8. we have to prove ourselves this year. you can debate and say every single team is or got better across the league. Our big 3 needs to make a huge jump for us to even SNIFF the play-in IMO

  9. As it stands, I don't believe the Pistons will be the worst team this year. With Cade coming back & being healthy, that makes this team better, regardless if those around the league or locals seem to have questions or forgotten about his talent. He has said he wants to be that guy. He will need help no doubt just like any other player tasked with being a savior. I'm not going to get caught up in comparing this player/that player to Cade & trying to predict individual honors. JMO but i think he will come out with a chip on his shoulder to prove the doubters wrong, that he can lead this team back to respectability & more.

  10. i’ll always say that there are busts in NBA terms, but ALL of them live superstar lives and are/were the bread for their families. i’ll never get on them for that.
