I’m shocked you forgot about Walker Kessler for DPOY especially and maybe even MIP (with a larger role) That being said, I’ll do my list of award winners (all darkhorses/not commonly picked players) MVP: Trae Young/Tyrese Haliburton (massive darkhorses but if their teams win a lot of games and show out alongside their gaudy point + assist stats you never know) DPOY: Walker Kessler ROY: Dereck Lively (getting away from any of the usual suspects plus he’s a great fit) 6MOY: Malik Monk (if he doesn’t start) MIP: Jaren Duren Clutch POY: Jalen Brunson COY: Ime Udoka
I would HATE if the media discounted Jaren's impact just cause of Smart's presence. He takes the grizzlies from a bottom 10 defense to a top 3 BY HIMSELF.
I think your blind spot for the Sacramento Kings is hilarious. Yes you mentioned Fox as an aside but they have a legit ROY / 6th man dark horse (Sasha Vezenkov, Euro MVP) and Keegan Murray most improved?? Also Mike Brown CoTY as the incumbent?
Tatum was leading the MVP race until January and finished 3rd in MVP voting, I don’t he should be considered a “dark horse” though he will be considering he plays for Boston if played anywhere else he would get treated like Luka
It wouldn't shock me at all if Chet Holmgren actually won ROY. As we saw from summer league, Wembanyama's offense is a work in progress. Holmgren probably won't score as much as him, but he may be a lot more efficient. Plus, the Thunder are going to be way better than the Spurs. If the Thunder win 50 games like I think they might, Holmgren may get credit since he's the main change with team since last year.
As a big Tatum fan he's gonna have to up his consistency & the Celtics would need the #1 seed so he has the best player on the best team argument in his favor
Chet is not a rookie. So dumb even putting him in it. He was hurt his rookie year and that’s his fault. How many rookies got hurt rookie year and didn’t get another chance or 2 for roty
My Way Too Early NBA Award predictions for the 2023-2024 Regular Season ROTY – Victor Wembanyama (other finalists include Scoot Henderson, Chet Holmgren) MIP – Jordan Poole (other finalists include Trey Murphy III, Obi Toppin) COTY – Michael Malone (other finalists include J.B. Bickerstaff, Taylor Jenkins) 6MOY – Buddy Hield (other finalists include Gabe Vincent, Immanuel Quickley) EOY – James Jones (other finalists include Pat Riley, Steve Koonin) CPOY – Kyrie Irving (other finalists include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, De'Aaron Fox) DPOY – Jaren Jackson Jr. (other finalists include Anthony Davis, Nic Claxton) MVP – Nikola Jokic (other finalists include Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo)
I understand your points about Tatum, but the Celtics are too stacked for him to win it or even be a finalist imo. It would be like if KD/Steph won the 2017 MVP, but a little less extreme. I think he finishes 4th in voting though.
ROTY- Victor Wembanyama (HMs are Chet, Scoot, Keyonte George) MIP-Tyrese Maxey (HMs are Anthony Edwards, John Collins, Franz Wagner) COTY- Mark Daigneaukt (HMs are Chris Finch, JB Bickerstaff, Michael Malone) 6MOY- Bennedict Mathurin (HMs are Chris Paul, Malcolm Brogdon, Malik Monk) EOY- James Jones (HMs are Brad Stevens, Rob Pelinka, Rafael Stone) DPOY- Anthony Davis (HMs are Evan Mobley, Giannis, JJJ) MVP- Jayson Tatum (HMs are Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Shai, Luka, Ant, Steph, and DBook)
6moty kevin porter jr i think is way overlooked. sure he is not the best starting point guard it is but in a scoring role off of the bench i’m pretty sure i’ll thrive. i truly think he could still average 20 on improved efficiency
I think Shai as an MVP is very underrated, record/team success is that holds a lot of players back from winning it. So if OKC makes a big jump then he’d be in even better position than what he was last year

That being said, I’ll do my list of award winners (all darkhorses/not commonly picked players)

6MOY: Malik Monk (if he doesn’t start)

I think scoot should be favored fr.. I dont see Chet or victor hitting 65 games
steve clifford heard it here first COTY
If bam can't get dpoy when they're the 1st seed and top 5 in defense with the best 3pt shooting last season, yea its a wrap for bam lol
Really excited for the pacers. Great vid, cone!
I like the way you wrote this script so it ages well

MVP : LUGUENTZ DORT
MIP – Alperen Sengun
Chet ROY!
Slim reaper Luka is gonna go crazy
Is it October yet?…
Claxton is definitely a dark horse for winning DPOY next season. He was literally top 3 in voting before KD and Kyrie got traded.
I don’t think he’ll win it but if the rockets somehow make the play-in, ime udoka should be a finalist
Curry Mvp Rose six man
Bro i love your videos
thanks ❤

For MIP, I’m between Keegan Murray and Tyrese Maxey (assuming that we trade Harden)
I think MIP will be Fultz

ESPN took the fun out of awards. Just don't mean much any more. Just a ESPN opinion and no more.

Coby White for 6MOTY!! Wemby wont play the 65 game minimum for awards
As far as coaches go you most definately sleeping on the pistons
Death, taxes, Anthony Davis being a dpoy preseason prediction. Gotta be what, 7 consecutive offseasons now?
Anfernee Simons MIP
Watch Quin Snyder on the sidelines this season. When games are close down the wire, He looks exactly like Voldemort with a nose. Swear to god.
What about Rob pelinka ?
