[Jackson] Per source, Portland has remained disinclined to engage Heat in serious trade discussions on Lillard. Blazers acting disinterested about dealing him here. One would think Blazers would get serious about this at some point, but they’re still not engaging Miami in negotiations

Meh, I say let Portland keep at their legacy of failure with Dame

  2. luke_workin

Thank you for the unbiased perspective, Miami Heat beat reporter

  3. rabid89

Lmao “remained disinclined” is such a polite way to tell someone to go fuck themselves. I need to use this more.

*I remain disinclined to find your thoughts interesting, Becky.*

  4. likpoper

I mean their package is rather bad.. we are happy to keep him all along

  5. Dude’s previous tweet: should Miami make a decent offer for Dame??? They don’t have to!!!!11!

Next tweet: why don’t they want to trade dame to miami šŸ„ŗ

  6. Timantha

Next week, Shams and Woj will report the same thing again in different words

  7. confuddly

Brooklyn seems like an obvious solution here, they have like 3x as many picks as Miami and Dame is good friends with Mikal

  8. paradoxofchoice

I’m surprised there isn’t a “nothing new” tag by now

  9. absurd_Bodhisattva

Miamiā€™s does not have assets to make taking them serious worth the time

  10. ClutchGamingGuy

why should they get serious about it? the Heat have nothing good to trade lol

    > One would think Blazers would get serious about this at some point but theyā€™re still not engaging Miami in negotiations

One would think people would know by now that the Heat are the ones under pressure to get it done. Portland have him under contract for 3 years and donā€™t need to give a shit about deterring free agents from coming there since they donā€™t come anyways

  12. Hot_Injury7719

If Miami isnā€™t acting serious, why would the Blazers?

  13. thy_armageddon

Looks like we know what word was on Barryā€™s ā€œWord of the Dayā€ calendar.

  14. MelfromMilwaukie

This is the result of Pat giving a ridiculous anchor offer. And now his camp is whining.

  15. MelfromMilwaukie

If Miamiā€™s best package wasnā€™t going to be enough Cronin woulda said so, and he hasnā€™t. So this holdup is 100% on Pat.

Love Dame’s game hope a trade eventually goes through but I’m not pressed if not. Lol @ blazers thinking theyā€™re gonna get a KD type return for someone on a crippling contract, 33 years old and is a guard(the most stacked position in the nba.) Dame said he only wants to play for the heat is a curse. Would love to see the offers that gets tossed to Portland for this.

  18. MostLikelyLyin

If the blazers have no incentive to try and win this year so why is it a rush?

The team is about to go up for sale and trading him for a shit package isnā€™t going to help the price

  19. ShoutOutTo_Caboose

What incentive do they have to hurry up? They have Scoot, Simons and Sharpe, Iā€™m sure theyā€™re perfectly content waiting for a good offer.

  20. ā€œā€¦One would think Blazers could get serious about this at some point..ā€

Maybe Miami should get serious first? Like what does that mean, last I read the Blazers arenā€™t just accepting a Miami offer because thatā€™s what rams wants.

  21. Strong_Confection628

Lmao. You have Blazer beat writers like Highkin accurately reporting that the Portland front office is literally on vacation, and then you have Barry Jackson tweeting shit like this.

  22. I like how every time this get reported on it’s somehow Portland’s fault for not kowtowing to Miami and trading Lillard for pennies on the dollar. Just fuck off already with this reporting, it’s tired and obvious at this point.

  23. trevortins

We will keep getting the same story Miami isnā€™t breaking the bank when they are the only one with any offer. I donā€™t think Portland will sit dame for a season.

  24. Cool_Cold_5554

Why would Portland get serious if Miami isnā€™t offering what they want?

  25. goldenboy2022

My opinion . Silver has told Portland management to hold out on Dam. Reasons being to show the players association they canā€™t always get what they want( this is very bad for the league ). Do not give Dam what he wants league will take care if Portland does not give in on Dam. Weā€™re sick of this from star players . KD did this last summer , trend of superstars getting what they want needs to stop . This will be a huge topic come the next bargaining agreement and may lead to a possible players strike. Either way this trend of the current NBA is trouble for smaller markets so the owners will definitely put a stop to it soonest .

  26. techno-wizardry

lol the Blazers seriously can seriously play this game for as long as they want practically. If the Heat are playing what leverage they think they have and giving unserious offers, then Dame just won’t play next season. If the Heat want the Blazers to get serious about this, they need to get to work to get the package together.

The Heat (and their fans) need to realize that just because Dame asked for a trade and wants to go to Miami, that doesn’t mean Miami is entitled to him. They can just not trade Dame at all, and he’s still going to be valuable in a year. They’ve got full control over him for 4 years. The clock is ticking for Miami, not the Blazers, they’re the ones burning contending years if they don’t get their offer together.

  27. JonasAlbert84

I fucking hate Joe Cronin. Every bit the piece of shit Neil was.

  28. toaster-bath72

They donā€™t have to trade Dame to Miami tho. Does this guy know that?

  29. thejman78

There’s no good reason to do *anything* with Lillard until Feb 2024:

    * The market for Miami’s existing assets might be better in a few months, assuming Miami gets off to a good start
    * Lakers can get involved after Jan (I’m no Lakers homer, but Reaves + unprotected 1sts + contracts seems better than anything Miami can offer)
    * Grant can be dealt at the same time, assuming he’s healthy
    * Philly might be willing to surrender Maxey, depending on how their season starts
    * Minny may implode, and if so Portland might have the pieces to get KAT and keep Lillard (long shot I know, but maybe)
    * Lillard’s probably going to be a little more flexible if he’s waiting 7 more months

The only downside to keeping Lillard is pissing him off and wasting everyone’s time with questions from reporters. Big deal.

I think he’s not going anywhere until Feb., but we shall see…

  30. cthree000

I mean it seems like that one guy in a fantasy league that only fields terrible offers, eventually people just kinda give up trying to trade with them

  31. kerblamophobe

I love watching all the Miami and Lillard “fans” meltdown because of not getting their way in this whole bullshit
