As a mavs fan I am really excited for the upcoming season. Iām not expecting a finals appearance but growth in the young guys and a playoff appearance is a good start
It would be awesome if Thybulle could have made the move to Dallas. He could thrive as a cutter with Luka. Portland had to ruin the fun and match the offer sheet
I'd get a solid Center tbh and resigning Powell is an L Im sorry. Powell is bar none bottom 5 players, that get heavy minutes, in the NBA rn. Hes the Mavs Udonis at this point.
tbh the ideal move for the mavs in both a long and short term is trading tim javale and the few seconds to atl for capella as he is the perfect center to play with ky and luka and livley can focus on development and not be forced into the starting lineup(side note while i understand the "good energy" that powell brings he is a 10th-12th man in a rotation that should only be used as a break glass if mass injury happens)
The Mavericks had the 7th ranked defense in 2021-22 and went to the WCF with Luka and Brunson in the backcourt, and their only exceptional defender was DFS… So it should also be possible to have a good defense with Luka and Kyrie as well. Not to mention the Nuggets and their 15th ranked defense rolled through the Playoffs last season.
As for the coming season, I think it would be a huge overachievement if Dallas made the Finals, but if they can find the kind of chemistry they had in 2021-22, then they could do it. So many immensely talented teams in the West, I think team chemistry (or lack thereof) will make the difference for many teams. Injuries are also usually a factor in who wins.
THANK YOU JimmerRange. Finally, someone pointed out the mastermind and genius moves the Dallas Mavericks made in the last 3 games of the season and even in the draft. Hell, mainstream media doesn't seem to get it. I agree with everything this guy said… except the starting lineup. Josh Green should start over THJ and Richaun Holmes should start in place of Dwight Powell. Green is a better defender and passer than THJ and Holmes brings an attitude to the game that Powell just doesn't have. THJ, Jayden Hardy and Seth Curry should combine for 30 points most nights. Add that to the 50 points a night from Luka and Kyrie and offensively you have something scary.
wow very nicely done. you earned a sub from me thanks to this video! anyway watch out for this mavs team! i think grant williams wouldve singlehandedly made a difference defensively last season. the mavs had the most losses down -5pts.
This incompetent Owner and GM and itās delusional fanbase donāt know anything about basketball. The roster is setup for rebuilding post Luka and Kyrie in 2 years. Itās had the same major flaw since Lukaās 2nd half of his rookie season and still hasnāt addressed it. This fanbase is very much a casual one and just keeps giving the ownership and GM excuse after excuse and believing the hype every offseason that the Mavericks sell to its fanbase unfortunately. Iām a realistic Mavs fan and this owner and GM has done the same thing the past 3 years specifically and sell the fanbase on āhopeā and bargain and bottom of the barrel talent and more specifically other teams trash that they think oh this time X player will breakout for us or oh he isnāt bad he just need playing time or the right āsystemā. They donāt want actual talent they want Luka to do everything and to raise these bums floors and then when it fails they blame him. They donāt instead demand the Owner and GM to surround Luka with the best possible talent and do whatever it takes to get it done they just accept the lies they get sold. They are also attached to guys who are mediocre and never want to get rid of them because they are blinded by hope and optimism year after year. 95% of the fanbase doesnāt even understand both Luka and Kyrie got 2 years left on this roster together thatās it and this team isnāt remotely close to a real championship contending team.
I am looking forward to see this team, if the star aligns with kyrie not being injured and the team builds chemistry. Honestly keeping kyrie at maximum 30 min or less would be enough and maybe no back to backs or something because this team's offensive ceiling with luka and kyrie is mad nasty
I bet the defense is gonna go up tremendously, as they added players with more 2 way ability. And I think Kyrie and Luka have a chip on their shoulder which can elevate the ceiling for the next few years together

I wonder if Luka had a role in getting Dante Exum. Exum guarded Luka when Australia won bronze against Luka at the Olympics so Luka knows he can play.
3:30 Lol he just used Bradley Bealās profile on Statmuse but put him on maverick jersey (Hardy doesnāt have picture yet)
Dwight Powell is not a solid move in any respect of the term.

I think Luka is one of the best looking ballers ever.
Mavs fan since Steve Nash love the gm nico Harrison
Nico and mark played this almost as well as they could just need to give up Timmy for a big

I would disagree. Team still looks paper thin
