Per source, Portland has remained disinclined to engage Heat in serious trade discussions on Lillard. Blazers acting disinterested about dealing him here. One would think Blazers would get serious about this at some point, but they're still not engaging Miami in negotiations

I donât understand why you donât wanna trade a veteran star who doesnât wanna be a part of the rebuild. Whatâs the point? To spite him and Miami? If there were legit other offers, thatâs different. But there arenât.
Youâre rebuilding. So get rid of that albatross contract, take back some assets and picks, and continue your fucking rebuild. Keeping Dame and forcing him to play is just bizarre because you wonât get as good a draft pick next year anyway. Why not just do a little tank job again?

I don’t understand what is so confusing. They have publicly said they don’t want to trade him. They said it before the draft, during the draft, after the draft, after his trade request. Dame had the freedom to pick where he plays, he chose Portland. Then he extended that contract until 2026. Why would Portland engage in trade talks they aren’t interested in for a guy they don’t want to trade? Especially since they don’t have to trade him. I don’t think they intend to trade him. They’re banking on him showing up and doing his job.

This guy made the Portland team worse and worse with literally every trade.

At the deadline, Cronin starts the tank by trading Norm Powell and Robert Covington to the Clippers for Eric Bledsoe, Keon Johnson, Justise Winslow, and a second round pick.
He also trades CJ McCollum and Larry Nance Jr to the Pelicans for Josh Hart, NAW, filler, and a pick.
He flips NAW to Utah for Ingles and a second round pick.
