What does Cory Joseph bring to Golden State? I felt his signing went below the radar.

Not much. I watched Pistons games.

For me, the minutes math is the big thing. Steph and CP3 will be far and away the best PG rotation in the League. Heck, Steph and ME would be in the conversation for the best rotation 🙂

But Steph and CP3 have averaged just about 82 games x 48 minutes combined over the past 3 years, and they’re not getting any younger. And if one of them is resting or injured for a particular game, the other one can’t play 48 minutes. So CoJo means REST for these two guys and INSURANCE against injury.

    He won’t play

I didn’t read anything on him because he is chiozza

I know he won’t turn the ball over and he was trained with Pop and won a chip already

He allows us to trade CP3 if we can find a good trade partner.
Potentially players like Siakam and Grant could be on the table?

He was signed to be a capable emergency/third PG behind Steph and Chris who can play spot minutes here and there and be content with being yo-yo’d in and out of the rotation. Something they actually haven’t had in basically a decade (Charles Jenkins?) and have been supplementing the roster with through two-way players (Jerome, Chiozza, Mannion, Bowman, Cook) and secondary playmakers.

He’s a tenured veteran with a bevy of experience who hasn’t been able to play winning basketball in a while and is a well-regarded professional who will be great for their locker room and culture.

Plan B at backup point if they find a nice return for cp3

He doesn’t move the needle in any way. I’m good with the signing and hope it works out. But he signed for basically the vet minimum. It’s under the radar because he’s not a meaningful NBA player.

Haven’t watched him in awhile but seems like a solid 3rd PG capable of running the offense in a pinch or playing off ball if sharing with another ball dominant presence even if undersized.

Honestly, feel like he’ll be more important than people think with both CP3 and Steph being 35+ now and I think last season showed how dangerous it could be to get burned out before playoffs and Warriors have always been incredibly patient and mindful with regards to not stretching players too thin (OPJ, Looney, Steph off the bench vs Denver). Feel like the way to best manage CP3 and Steph is to load manage the hell out of them so they’re freshest come playoff time when it matters most
