Everybody is approaching this with their own rules so I’ll give mine. I’m going peak by peak and ignoring legacy or health concerns.
Start Kawhi. His Raptors run is absolutely insane. I shouldn’t have to say much else. He has actually done it with Toronto, and he has looked like the best player in the league multiple times on the Spurs or Clippers but injuries fucked him over.
Bench Butler. Jimmy is a #1 option and has so many legendary performances with this team as the #1 option. When Jimmy has a mediocre performance, it falls on him. When scottie has a mediocre performance, he still can get by playing great defense and feeding MJ.
Cut Scottie. I have a lot of respect for Scottie, but he is one of the more overrated players in historical convos. Could he be a #1 guy? I mean sure on a winning team, but he’s not taking them all the way to a championship as that guy, I don’t see the argument that he could. The argument is there for Jimmy, he just hasn’t done it yet.
