Doesn’t make a difference to the thousands of upset fans. I wonder what the players think… Paolo probably hoping someone buys the magic and moves them to Seattle

Man, this year I wanted the Magic to get more attention and press, but not like this…

At least it’s not a complete waste of money now. Just a loser franchise donating to a fascist piece of shit.

I think it’s naive to think just because the donation to the Super PAC was made *before* the presidential campaign was announced, that it was technically just a donation to the Governor and not to his presidential campaign. [The Super PAC is reportedly pulling the majority of the weight when it comes to campaign expenditures and organization](https://www.newsnationnow.com/politics/2024-election/campaign-finance-rules-super-pac-backing-desantis/), and in essence is the campaign. It should be obvious to anyone that the $50k isn’t just being used by DeSantis for “Governor of Florida stuff”, because that’s not how Super PAC money works. The Super PAC is a distinct entity with an overriding purpose – to support the candidate of its choosing. It is separate from the governmental and representative functions, if any, of that candidate, and legally, it cannot coordinate with the candidate’s campaign.
I think the Magic organization’s statement rings hollow and doesn’t really address the matter.
