I wonder if any of the players were ‘dude Sheed we want to go home’

Love this video. My favorite part is the cheerleaders being caught off guard and having to get up to cheer ASAP

The days when the Pistons were good, and most of the car brands in Detroit were just going under year by year

Sheed was so fucking good, man.

I was watching this game. Chauncey missed a 3-pointer for the tie just prior, leading Denver to call a time-out and advance the ball to half-court with 1.3 seconds left (I feel like Detroit was out of time-outs).
I figured the game was toast, so I turned to ESPN Classic and just started watching Cheap Seats instead. Flipped back five minutes later to catch the Pistons post-game show and was beyond confused to see what appeared to be live action of a game still in progress.
I think it’s easily the craziest sporting moment I’ve ever missed due to my own insolence.

Guess who turned this game off, changed to check the post game show and they were winning in overtime

I was fortunate enough to watch this live. I remember the only chance they had was to steal the pass on the inbound and throw up a prayer and hope it goes in. By some miracle that’s exactly what happened. Fun game.
George Karl-coached Nuggets and failed inbounds plays; name a more iconic duo.

Thank god for jokic. Being a Nuggets fan has been torture until recently.

I was there. Arena was already near half empty and everyone came rushing back in.

I remember watching this game live. I got way to upset about this play as a nuggets fan when I was like 13 lol.

Sheed could defend multiple positions and moved the floor like a guard while being a big man. He was very unselfish, even criticised for it.

As a nuggets fan this obviously sucked. It was so painful for me that I swore to never watch a replay of this shot again…until the nuggets won a title. So for 15-20 years (I can’t remember exactly what season this happened in) I avoided this highlight every single time it popped up. Wasn’t that often, but every few years I’d be reminded of this game and it always sucked. And I honestly thought I was never going to watch it again
Well today thanks to this post, I re watched it for the first time since then. Still sucks, but at least I can now look back and appreciate how tough of a shot that was by sheed
