My time listening to anything Dame has to say is officially over.

If anyone in this sub or outside of it thinks that Dame’s extension was about loyalty and not money I’m not sure what to tell you anymore. We’ve NEVER built a contender around him. He thought we were magically going to? Nah. He took the supermax $60+ mil which he could ONLY get through us and then demanded a trade before the ink dried. Dame ain’t “built different”. He’s exactly the same as any other NBA player maximizing their bag.
He isn’t even the best Blazer ever lol

Could really care less what Dame has to say about anything lol

Jesus fucking christ, people here sound pathetic. Grow the fuck up and quit acting like Dame was your first boyfriend who broke your heart. “I hate him, I hate him forever, Jennifer. He can eat a bag of dicks till he chokes on em, and I won’t even save him”

Some trash takes in this thread lmao. Lot of people who don’t frequent the sub.
If you don’t seriously believe that Dame wants/wanted to win *here* in Portland when he signed it then you’re just naive.
Cronin did a decent job at a major roster overhaul when he took over. He didn’t even get the 2021 offseason to work. Tore the bandaid off with the CJ and Nance trade to get us Grant and Hart (now Murray + Thybulle) and he made the tough decision to sell super low on Norm and RoCo to get out of the repeater tax and take advantage of a bad injury with Lillard.
We’ve made moves and they didn’t go our way. The better path for us is to rebuild. It’s not a big deal. It sucks sure, but it doesn’t change how the FO or Dame felt in the past. Our goal was to retool the roster then push the chips in with a big trade. We had the best opportunity to make that move this summer but didn’t get the offers we wanted. The nets *turned down* Simons and #3 for Bridges.

Just bored of it all now.

The blazers are known for handing out fat contracts. Dame was deserving of that super max. He gave our team much needed relevance. He’s the reason some neutrals would watch our games. It’s reasonable for him to ask out. Sitting out is entirely different. I’d lose respect if he did. But he’s not gonna do that.
Maybe I didn’t put him on a pedestal so the manner of the trade request doesn’t sting.

Feels like idiot big mouths in the media like Stephen A Smith finally got through to him and he started doubting. Really pisses me off what’s happened and I don’t fully blame either side. Just goes to show no matter how much someone wants to stay with a team it’ll most likely never happen.
