What if Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Danilo Gallinari, Malcolm Brogdon injuries didn’t happen?

Injuries are always the biggest what if in a season that doesn’t accomplish its goals. The Celtics had a few that changed the course of their season, and one in particular could have been what ultimately won a championship. But as John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal goes through the possibilities, the biggest game changer might not be the one you’re thinking of.

  1. Can we all acknowledge that JB cut his hand on a bong? If you had to bet if he was arranging flowers or packing a bowl, what would you go for?

  2. It is disgusting how nobody talks about Bam rolling on JB’s LEFT arm at the start of the series… the Jays aren’t Load Mgmt driven players, hell JT played thru a clearly damaged ankle… JB’s different but the same attack at efficiency

  3. If Galo was healthy he wouldve been a great bench contributer. Really great shooter with an offensive Big tho his defense is lacking. He'd be one if the best guys for Mazzula Ball😂. With that being the case, Sam Hauser would get less minutes. In the playoffs hed probably be an even bigger help considering his experience and the fact that hes a vet, Mazzula probably actually plays him which he doesnt do for a lot of other deeper rotation pieces

  4. What if they had 1 playoffs without a single injury since before I.T. Was traded. That curse has never left this team.

  5. I felt like Jaylen Brown was acting like a weirdo the WHOLE final few weeks of last season! Just go back watch some of his post game interviews,,the way he would just stop playing for like a whole half of games,,the "broken vase" situation,,, ripping off his bandage during games then purposely SLAM Dunking on it and recutting multiple times,,,etc. dude was just being extra weird..

  6. Well, I understand it's August and all, but I hate these exercises. For the fans: Woulda Coulda Shoulda is the domain of losers. OF COURSE injuries played a role (see 1987 and 2009 & 2010 folks, for those who think injuries ONLY have "cursed" us since IT. LOL) in some notable, "fall short" seasons…as they do for many teams. Imagine being a Clippers fan the past 4 years. The Sixers will use injuries as an excuse till the end of civilization. JUST. PART. OF. THE. GAME.

  7. Aunt…Uncle. Same relevance–that's for the fans who use this to justify the injustice of the basketball gods…or whatever. I don't mind you doing this John–and I like that you explore other consequences for each–very thoughtful…just understand, you're feeding the zombies too.

  8. And anyone talking about "curse" clearly doesn't remember or wasn't around for Summer of '86 through 2007. From the death of Len Bias till moves to get KG and Ray, the number of calamities, setbacks, and jaw-dropping bad luck moments were astounding–and almost constant. For TWO DECADES. It doesn't MEAN anything–curses are nonsense–but anyone thinking THIS era is somehow "cursed," has NO perspective. None.

  9. Rob Williams is a Myth who averages 40 games per season. That’s USELESS…!!!!! Just like Brogdon winning 6th man of the year, great but you weren’t available for the playoffs so essentially your Useless rendering all of the great play in games all season irrelevant …!!!💯

  10. Thanks for staying with us during the off season, you’re part of our lives listening to you speak on something we all love

  11. I agree the Brogden injury had the most-direct, obvious and near-term impact; the easiest to project. I think the Gallo 2nd-3rd order effects chain is plausible but harder to be sure about.

  12. Brad is an Idiot… We know because he hired Joe, & Joe don’t know Diddly…!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👋💯🫡

  13. What if the Celtics defended better the home court and won more playoff games at TD Garden.

That should've been sufficient to have an opportunity and play Denver in the NBA Finals.
