In an off-season that saw Cam Johnson sign a bigger-money, long-term contract with the Brooklyn Nets, the expectation now begin to shift going into this next season. The Nets will need Johnson to step up and live up to the contract on the court, needing to take a sizable leap when it comes to his place in the overall NBA landscape.

  1. Why do you still dig at Ben Simmons Leave him alone and see how he goes now 12+ months since back surgery

  3. It was a few years ago, there were high expectations of the big three (KD/Kyrie/Harden) based on their super star status and stats. Without going into the details of its failure, goes to show that individual stats means nothing without the other intangibles conducive to being competitive team. Its too simplistic to conclude that "Cam Johnson needs to be a Top-50 player for the Nets this season."

  4. Ben simmons either recovering from back or thats his new athleticism. Whole season no good 2 hand dunks. 2 years ago huge dunks off dribble. Watched highlights forgot how physically diferent he was

  5. CJ will have more responsibility and a larger role with the Nets this year than he had in Phoenix. I am fully confident his game will take a commensurate step forward. The Nets front office has full confidence in that as well otherwise they wouldn’t have paid him a nice pile of coin.

  6. Would love to hear Doug’s thoughts on the article posted today on Netsdaily by ProfessorB regarding Timeline.

Get ready folks because the numbers bare out in Doug’s favor that a players prime is actually a lot sooner than people realize and that it peaks out around 28 years old. Cam Johnson is turning 27 years old. This whole notion that Marks has found all these late bloomers than nobody else in the league has seen seems far fetched and hoping for something outside of what the numbers suggest. The number suggest that guys like Bridges and Cam Johnson are probably as good as they will ever be absent small percentage changes in their production. Read the article very informative.

  7. Folks, there is a nice chance that we’re gonna look back two years from now and say geez why didn’t the Nets trade bridges for four first round picks and other pieces or even for the 3 rd pick because similar to Cam Johnson right now and his salary bridges in another year or two is going to be due a lot more money than he ever would’ve gotten had he remained with the Suns. The nets will very likely be in a position where they are paying a B+ player, who is the best player on their team superstar money and unless marks has some genius plan a flipping Cam Johnson, and some of these other pieces to get a true superstar. The nets might be in a world of trouble when they’re paying bridges, Claxton and cam Johnson top level money and being a bottom level playoff team.

  8. I just wanna say I think he can and does step it up this year. I don’t think he necessarily had to be on the court last year because we had Royce and Doe and Cam T., so I think he could of easily played his way to the bench after the trade and he didn’t.
