This was JB’s response when asked about Donovan’s commitment. We should really take it easy on the guy. He’s shown he’s all in, who cares if he’s a Mets fan from NY.
The Mitchell paranoia is going to drive me up a wall. Lebron has given everyone PTSD.

I was never very worried about Mitchell leaving in the first place, but this is very reassuring to hear.
At the same time, JB wouldn’t say anything otherwise… so it’s probably a bit of a nothingburger. Still, no news is good news in these sort of cases.

Love to hear it; at the same time isn’t most of this just part of being a highly paid professional?
He might be planning on staying or he might be planning on leaving, either way I’ve never expected him to be less than 100% engaged / on board as a teammate. Especially 24 months before his free agency at that.

DM noise is just that. It’s journalists trying to come up with a story that isn’t there. He’s been excellent since getting to Cleveland and has shown the city and team nothing but love and loyalty. To make every story about him leaving is only noise.

The effect that The Decision has had on this fanbase needs to be studied because good god

Connecticut???? That’s right beside NYC and ESPN! Mitchell is gonna leave us for sure now /s

Donovan Mitchell confirmed going to the Orlando Magic

This is good to hear. Although while I think all the DM noise is just noise, this year is extremely important nonetheless. If we make a run, everyone’s happy. He has no reason to leave, we have no reason to shake things up. But a repeat of last yeah might change that for one side or both.

Donovan has never given any indication he wanted to leave. Hell, does no one remember how happy he was when he got here? Went straight to local sports games checked out what Cleveland had to offer, never once did he give that vibe of forcing it. All you people being negative about him need to FUCKING RELAX.

I don’t think this means anything. Mitchell seems like a hard worker and not going to quit on the team. I still think he’ll go to the Knicks if he wants to, he’s just not a guy who is going to pout in the meantime.

Is Mitchell eligible for a more expensive contract if he extends with Cleveland rather than going somewhere else in free agency

Cleveland has a permanent inferiority complex. It’s like the insecure boyfriend that drives his hot girlfriend away by constantly accusing her of cheating.

Good news!

What people aren’t talking about is that Mitchell isn’t a fair weather guy, he’s closer to dame in mentality than James harden. He never asked out of Utah, he didn’t even ask for Gobert to be traded. This paranoia is all drummed up by loud New York media types and unfortunately since they are a such a big market for the nba any sort of drama they create gets national attention, even when it’s just straight fabrications.
Mitchell is gonna stay in Cleveland as long as the Cavs want him around, we’ll offer him the most money possible and he’ll play out his prime here at the very least.
Also, even though we lost the the knicks in the playoffs they’re track record as a franchise is pretty awful, and they’re ownership is worse than ours, and they’re fans are notoriously fickle. The only thing they have better than us is Walt Clyde Frazier on color commentary.
Plus, Koby has been an excellent gm in his time here, if Mitchell does ask out, I’m sure we’ll get a solid return for him and keep trucking with Garland, Mobley, Allen and solid role players around them.

LOLOL. Why do we need a Donovan Mitchell update?
Relax. motherfuckers.
bob_scratchit
Dude, he’s a professional. He’s going to do what he can to win while he is here, but is anyone going to blame him for leaving for a bag? These dude’s get one, maybe two shots to create generational wealth for their families. I wouldn’t be upset if someone offers him more and he leaves, especially due to the face he was traded here.
FunkyFreshJeff
After the trade to CLE he said he was ready to run it back with Gobert and that Jazz team, don’t know if that was just lip service but if he was willing to do that man has some patience with a roster
