[Baraheni] Masai Ujiri sighted selfishness a lot in his press conferences last season. Some of the players hinted at contracts playing a part in that. Vibes were indeed bad. Heading into another year with 3 guys dealing with contract/trade noise is not ideal Imo.

4 guys dealing with contract noise this year actually: Pascal, OG, GTJ, and Precious

2 if we’re not counting Trent because his extension is pending

4 if we’re saying “anyone without an extension that we expect them to try and retain” because Precious is an RFA in 2024, and Scottie is extension eligible in that offseason too

Scottie rookie extension too 😂😂😂. Front office masterclass

That might actually be a bigger issue this year. Pascal, OG, Precious are all expiring, if we don’t extend Gary he will be too.

You’ve already got OG saying he wants a bigger role during a contract year. Winning games is secondary to these guys.

People realize this is the NBA, right? There’s no 10 year contracts. There are going to be expiring contracts every year for teams.

Still on a high from that last play-in game

Starts with the coaching. Nurse had a philosophy of getting players paid. Fred was the most vocal leader and that was his mentality as well.

It’s not necessarily a problem for them to think that way, but sometimes that doesn’t allow the team to mesh, and that seemed to be the case last year.

Every team has FAs every single year, it’s the NBA. The problem isn’t guys playing for contracts, it’s when the offensive system allows guys to play for themselves at the expense of the team and the coach allows that to happen.

A new coaching staff focused more on team basketball should make a big difference in this.

You know what’s crazy we walked outta last trade deadline with a roster of 5 outta our top 6 players gonna be ufa by summer 2024,
    Fred x he gone
    Trent?
    Og?
    Pascal?
    Poetl- resigned

For a play in team that’s why we slowly becoming a joke.. my humble opinion I think Bobby sucks as a gm.. and yes masai is not our gm he president.. Bobby been so bad everybody still think masai the gm..honestly I think we call say weltman would be better of here than Orlando.

What did he think would happen when he’s purposely giving out contracts to the starters to line up all of them expiring at the same time, AND not trading anybody that’s expiring all these years??

It’s good to see that none of the issues were addressed and as of now we’re just running it back

Contracts are part of the business, if there were bad vibes then it was because of the FO and not the players. The FO gets big bucks to MANAGE the team and ensure no bad “vibes” occur.
