You can’t justify a max deal for Harden. He didn’t hold up his end. Out of shape, went to Vegas during the playoffs.
Harden is a one trick pony. He draws cheap fouls – doesn’t get them in the playoffs – and he shuts down and has no plan B.
Joel Embiid is getting the same way. It’s a hard life being a Sixers fan. Growing up with Iverson spoiled a lot of us. His effort and intensity was Kobe and Jordan levels.
He wasn’t quite as good as them cause of his size but AI may of been the most naturally talented player ever – he literally never worked on his game and ate chicken fingers and jalapeño poppers at TGI Friday’s and didn’t go to practice – went to the club all night and still showed up and would cook people.

Embiid hasn’t ever showed up in the playoffs either. Also the Sixers won’t trade Embiid to the Knicks. If they trade him it won’t be to a rival – they would send him west.
The Sixers couldn’t sell trading Embiid to the Knicks to the fans. They are trying to build a new stadium in Philly.
The Sixers won’t do something like that to piss people off – it will kill the funding.

Too bad he does not have the desire and drive to WIN equal to his Talent. Jordan was the extreme example but many other players like Bird, Ainge and now Stephen Curry (among others) made the most out of their skill set by adding incredible drive and mental toughness …..and boy, did it pay off. Imagine what Harden's contracts could have been if he had at least one NBA Championship Ring. Great offensive player but poor defender, lots of turnovers and not a clutch guy when the chips are down. Now it seems he's just looking for a paycheck…and that's OK…. but in 10 years who is going to be talking about this guy? …just his accountant……
