People obviously talk about the physical tools him and his brother have but something thats not mentioned is their ridiculous work ethic and love for the game. That will really take them far Houston and Detroit are very lucky

I had an ex GF when I lived in Queen Anne, Seattle who used to tell me she would see KD shoot on these outdoor hoops at night in Seattle during his rookie season. I used to clown her and say not all tall black guys you see shooting hoops are Kevin Durant.

You used to be able to sometimes catch Klay Thompson shooting around at the beachside courts in Capo Beach in Orange County. The surf would always come up and destroy the courts eventually though and the county recently decided to not rebuild this time. Lame.

I once shot hoops at the same park as DeMar DeRozan in Vancouver. No idea why he was there. But he was shooting 3s from the logo like they were nothing.

I moved to Gainesville, FL in December of 2006. It was common to see several Gators hooping at Westside Park. A week or two after they won the Natty, Corey Brewer, Al Horford, and Joakim Noah were hooping. A few weeks later the three of them were a Top 10 pick. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve played on those courts, but one of my last experiences was Scottie Wilbekin, Will Yeguete, and Patric Young killing it. I still drive by those courts and they typically seem empty nowadays, but damn those were some great runs.

If I owned a team, I’d be certain that my players had a gym wherever they wanted to live. It would be cheap compared to the possibility of injury.
I think working out in hot sun playing a sport you’ll never play for real in the sun is actually great practice. You gotta perfect your stuff against the elements. Somebody also might pop up and run a game (lol not really exciting if you DII and up). The way your favorite player became what they are outside of genetics. Playing against better or older guys in the park. Or rebounding your own shots over and over for hours. Just make sure you’re hydrated.
Why is the trainer texting and asking about workouts? Shouldn’t he be at the workouts?
So why isn’t his trainer in Florida with him getting him gyms??
