I like this for the Mavs a lot. Still a wing or two out there they should be looking to secure on the market to continue to add defense and athleticism around Luka and Kyrie. DJJ should be able to feast playing off Luka and/or Kyrie off the bench offensively and he is a very solid individual defender that also brings some defensive versatility. Exactly what the Mavs needed.
I agree with u/I_Set_3_Alarms…from a pure talent perspective bar Kyrie it may not be a roster with the sexiest names and may not stand out compared to other rosters Luka has played with but from a fit perspective it absolutely is. This team being assembled around Luka and Kyrie makes sense. They’re still not done as I do as we get closer to training camp time that they’ll be looking for moves involving THJ with the goal of bringing in a C.

Man, I feel like Mavs fans forget when DJJ shut KP down(I think when he was playing Portland). Dude can weirdly play C alright.
Maybe I’m crazy, but this seems like a win for the Mavs. He’s the 12-15th guy and getting paid under the minimum level exception.
