Lol you can see him processing and waiting to see where she was going with the praise then him being happy like someone appreciating what I did

If you happen to ever run into him, he is one of the most accessible players, charitable, and friendly to fans. I’ve met him when he was at UCLA and later when he was with the Lakers, he actually remembered me (or so he says, but UCLA was we were on the same flight) – on court, against rude fans, and ridiculous reporters he’s always guarded.

Its sad for someone as great as Westbrook to be in a state where he’s actually taken aback from a reporter actually being nice.

Russ is such a great guy but this sub acts like heâs literally responsible for the death of millions. You guys need to get outside once in a while.

I think what makes her question hard to answer and likely why he ultimately delivered a vague canned answer is that these playerâs complex movements often exist as a function of flow state or what Kahneman called âSystem 1â thinking. Itâs a space between volition and reflex that can be hard to put into words.

Itâs weirdly endearing and humanizing to see him so sincerely appreciate these compliments. It goes to show that even when youâre one of the best in the world, the criticism can get to you and a kind word still matters.

Pretty sure there was also one where he was wearing a t-shirt with a drawing that one of his kids had done.

Can’t find it though but it was also wholesome!
