With Ant, McDaniels, Naz Reid, and Gobert reportedly all working out together over the summer and with no sign of KAT… kinda seems like it’d be the right time to strike on a ‘buy-low’ KAT offer. If the FO is feeling shaky about his future with them, I think now is the time to send them an offer as they may want to make a deal before another season where he either gets injured or proves he can’t play next to Gobert.
Why should we do it? The best we’ve looked with this core was before John broke his hand and was flirting with being a very decent shooter from 3. KAT is a very legit 3pt threat. He’s also never played with a leader like Trae. Yeah he played with Jimmy, but Jimmy is a grit’n’grind type of quiet leader, while Trae is all moxy and likes being the villain in big playoff road games. I think that type of leadership is precisely what KAT would need to flourish as a high-scoring #2 option. KAT is also signed for long-term, so no need to worry about him leaving after 1 season like Siakam could potentially do.
Trae-Dejounte-JJ-KAT-OO would be our best starting lineup since the 4-AS days, especially if OO and JJ develop. AJ could also play the 3, though I may start with JJ there for more defense. Minutes could also be staggered so we always have Onyeka or KAT out there, which means our 2nd unit could really run it up vs opposition’s 2nd units.

I love Kat fit more than Siakam for damn sure. However, Dallas should not get Capela for neutral (at best) asset Hardaway JR.

Lol, Wolves aren’t going to trade KAT for this. This is Bleacher Report level of delusion.

The kat fit is amazing, but I do not trust him at all

Wolves can do better than that if they’re trading KAT
