The New-Look Rockets Have DISASTER Potential

After losing 60 games and finishing with a bottom-three record for the third straight season, the Houston Rockets were the NBA’s most aggressive team this offseason. They hired Ime Udoka to serve as head coach, then splurged on free agents Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks, among others. Those additions should see Houston improve, but the Rockets still have quite the hill to climb. And with the cast of characters now occupying that locker room, this suddenly ambitious team has disaster potential written all over it.

  1. Did anyone think they weren't going to be a tanking team this year ? It just seems like they spent the money they had to, yeah the contracts look bad but by the time their young talent is worth competing with those guys can be off the books.

  2. The rockets just got wayy too many young dawgs to handle and mesh well , only a matter of time before they start Biting each other fr

We thought grizzlies were toxic , well these rockets just might be headed for this crown šŸ˜‚

  3. If Fred couldnā€™t even ā€œhandleā€ Scottie then no way he has any level of success in Houston with those young egoā€™s.

  4. Host needs to stop talking sides ways (like literally talking to his right but looking at the camera). Very amateurish

  5. Brooks said he didnā€™t want to be the 4th or 5th option with the grizz just to be that on the rockets behind Sengun, green, smith ,KPJ and I might even through in Thompson šŸ˜‚

  6. Rockets making a dumb ass gambleā€¦. They think a team might want Brooks for a playoff push, so they can try to gain some future picks. If he falls flat of his potential of being a good defender, they are stuck with a garbage contract that does nothing for their core

  7. The Rockets are going to be a lottery team and a circus. You have arguably the worst culture in the NBA last season and you add Van Vleet whoā€™s jealous of Scottie Barnes lead to the Raptors having poor team culture and chemistry last season the first in like a decade. You mentioned his a poor shooting brick chucker. He had issues with the Raptors younger players so heā€™s not exactly a perfect fit besides young players no where close to as mature as the Raptors young players.

Then they add Brook who team had maturity issues last season and who team said they didnā€™t want their leader back under any circumstances. Oh heā€™s also a poor shooting brick chucker.

You add this with Green and Porter Jr and this is a nightmare. Plus the Rockets defence was an embarrassment last year and as Raptors fan who watches every game Fred been the worst defender on the team for 2 years. He is a below average defender. Brooks canā€™t save this team with all poor defenders around him.

Oh to mention the coach they hired to fix culture is coming off a season where he was suspended for breaking team rules.

Iā€™m definitely going to be watching the Rockets dumpster fire next season looking Fred to go on his podcast tour blaming his poor defence and shooting on those young players. You know like last seasonā€¦ Mr Bet on Himself always needs to protect his value for his next contract which is the only thing he cares about. Even if that means chucking brick to eventually score 19+ points.
