This is huge imo for us because we project to still be bad the year after next. 2026 was more of an unknown whether we’d be good enough for the play-in by then or still a lottery team
Cooper Flagg just announced he's reclassified from 2025 to 2024, making him NBA draft eligible in 2025. He just narrowly made the cut age-wise with his late December birthday, and looks like a strong candidate to be the No. 1 pick in that class. https://t.co/4XWGuYQoeP

I don’t expect the team to be good this year, but I really hope we’re not so bad that the following season needs to be a Lag for Flagg year.
Not sold on this kid honestly, the level of competition he went against was pretty bad
If the Blazers are still in serious contention for the #1 pick…. Meaning have top 5 lottery odds… in 2026, there is a much bigger problem than being one of the 5 worst teams in the league.
I don’t think we’re actually gonna be bad enough by then. At least not 1-5 territory. Top of the 2025 draft just *screams* Chicago, Brooklyn, and Washington to me. I guess Houston has swap rights there for the Brooklyn?
I think Toronto is close to blowing it up and tanking for a year to retool around Barnes. Maybe Philly too but less so. I doubt they can recover quick enough after this Harden blow up.
I doubt we’ll get him but we can only hope
To be fair, we could get an unprotected draft pick from a team potentially in that lottery in the Dame trade.
