maxey could be an all star, but look how his shooting percentage dropped from regular season to playoffs and from playoffs 2022 to playoffs 2023, about 5% drop in both cases. Opposing defenses will be gearing up to stop maxey as the celtics did. With harden gone he will attract more defenders at least in the playoffs. When you are the 3rd option you get more open looks and those will be going away as he becomes a 2nd option. Also I dont expect him to shoot better with playmaking duties, he might take a small step back. As far as nick nurse, well Gee who would have though stuffing the ball inside to joel would be too predictable?

This whole Maxey's facilitator concern is ridiculous to me. Would anyone consider Tony Parker a high level facilitator, how about Steph, how about Isiah Thomas. We have cried for the past 6 years that all our point guards do is pass the ball. We wanted a point guard that would attack, put pressure on the defense, and take pressure off Joel, we have that guy now. I wish he was still being coached by Doc and Cassell but Nurse is a very innovative minded coach so I feel confident that he will find ways to make Maxey an effective passer and the team as a whole, an effective passing team.
